British jihadis are feared to be among hundreds of foreign fighters allowed to escape Islamic State’s former stronghold Raqqa under the noses of coalition forces.
Almost 4,000 IS militants and their families were reportedly allowed to leave in a four-mile convoy as the group were defeated in the city in Syria last month.
Witnesses said it included ‘huge’ numbers of foreign fighters – including some English speakers – who are said to have since spread out across Syria and into Turkey, potentially en route to Europe.

What the CIA should do is get out of the Middle East. Without our meddling, Syria and Iraq wouldn't be the mess they are today. Assad hasn't invited the US into Syria; we're an invasion force. Lebanon has a right to whatever allies it chooses. Let Syria, Iran, and the Kurds sort it out.
The problem with what you say is that it results in thousands of “returning” ISIS jihadis returning to the West to set themselves off.
