Luther Strange's campaign tried and failed to confirm Roy Moore allegations
Washington Examiner ^ | Nov. 15

About six or seven months ago, Sen. Luther Strange's campaign heard that Roy Moore "liked to chase women around the courthouse," according to two Alabama Republican sources.

At the time, Moore faced a three-way Republican primary against Strange and Rep. Mo Brooks. In a tight race, it was clear the rumor could prove politically lethal.

"We did a lot of research. We tried and tried and tried," one source said. "I think if we were able to find the names out, we probably would have passed it along to a reporter to track down ... We just weren't able."

The media wouldn’t have helped Strange, they would have spiked it until the general.

Occam’s Razor screams this.... so who decided to leak the oppo early? Early enough to drag McConnell’s gay laundry into it?

Is this why the Establishment jumped with both feet 100% within an hour of it breaking? This was their Ace that got played early and they had to amplify it because there’s nothing else?

Remember the lesson of Watergate: “Follow the money”.

McConnell and his branch of the Uniparty are fighting to preserve billions if not trillions of dollars worth of power and influence.

The Democrats are fighting to steal a Senate seat they could never win at the ballot box which they see as putting them one vote closer to impeaching Trump.

So in comparison, whatever motives Luther Strange might have seem pretty small.

Liars

Strange has his own peccadilloes. Baseless allegations versus real substantive allegations from very recent past would be a losing strategery.

The sugar daddy thing is indeed real. I bet all those mothers were pushing those girls at that fairly young lawyer.
Some mothers are very conniving to get their daughters in the same space as successful men. Even at church
They want them to marry someone who can give the whole family a lift from poverty.
Bottom line, if indeed Roy Moore was dating high school girls, their mothers knew and approved.
Roy Moore better get some proof of innocence quickly. Interesting that he is not accused of rape or actually having an affair with any of these girls.

"It is possible this rumor is from Luther itself and he passed it to media, just to destroy Moore."

That's the first thing that came to my mind.

Back then young men who went to school or joined the army often came home to find a “good girl”. One their mothers had arranged with other mothers to meet Notice he said he hadn’t dated anyone hat their mother had not approved. He was considered a good catch. The “good girls” his age were already married with children.

His wife was in the same class as the last accuser. One should look at activities to see if there are grounds for jealousy involved. Accuser could have made a play but was rebuked and current wife won out.

I just want to Wiki to look up basic data on Roy and his wife, Kayla. Roy was born in 1947, Kayla was born in 1961, and they were married in 1985. Thus, he was 38 and she was 24 when they were married, an age difference of 14 years. It looks like he's being persecuted simply because his romantic interests, while single, ran to younger women, one of whom he married and with whom h's had four kids. Yes, he really looks like an evil, lustful man (sarc. off). OMG!! He's not even fathered any bastards.

Wictor’s efforts, and both threads, are excellent.

The problem is that they require thinking, which most people, including many here on FR, are loathe to do.

“Of course the fooling around with 14 year old girls would certainly be a deal breaker (that was certainly as big of a no-no in the 1970’s as today).”

I was stationed in Alabama from 1973-1976. At that time a 13 year old girl could marry with parental permission, 16 without permission. I never several locals as well as GI’s who’s wives were 13, 14 or 15 years old when they married. A bit odd, but my own sister got engaged at 16 while we were living in Texas. Things were definitely different 40 years ago.

Not entirely true. In the ‘70s, 14 was Age Of Consent in Alabama. It went to 16 around 2003, I believe. So it wasn’t a “no-no” then, and certainly not “certainly ... a no-no”.

It might seem weird and creepy to us, coming from our current-day perspective, but in the deep south back then, maybe it wasn’t.

Was just on Moore’s twitter. He has just began proceedings with some media over this. Letter specifically mentions the mall rumor. Keep fighting Judge Moore!

He has just a few weeks to get the goods on his Accusers.

In Politics, you are Guilty until proven Innocent unless you are a Democrat. Don’t like it, but that’s the way it is.

Blaming it on a Vast Left Wing Conspiracy just won’t cut it.

His Team had better get in gear.
