That just about describes me also. I even use to contribute to their fund raisers. However, when they started abandoning Conservatism, that is when I moved over to Free Republic. I had heard about the site.

Me too. Beginning January 1981. That and American Spectator were joys to receive,
and begin to devour with a cup of coffee or a cocktail, and the satisfaction knowing
stimulating and entertaining writing would brighten the day.
