Arctic climate change being felt farther south, scientists say
CBC News ^ | November 20, 2017 | The Canadian Press

An international summary of five year's worth of research on Arctic climate change concludes the top of the world is getting warmer faster than anyone thought.

And if it all sounds interesting but a little far removed from southern concerns, David Barber has news for you.

"There are very clear linkages there and they've been occurring consistently for the last 10, 15 years," said Barber, one of Canada's top ice scientists and a prominent contributor to the report.

"Most people don't understand how bad it is."

Climate change in the Arctic is well underway and can't be stopped. But the report says if nations meet their greenhouse gas reduction targets under the Paris agreement, changes in the Arctic will stabilize to a new normal some time around 2040.

"We should have started 20 years ago," Barber said. "We didn't get our act together and we're still dicking around trying to figure out how to price carbon.

"These things are costing us. And they're costing the stability of our planet."

An international summary of five year's worth of research ...

Only five year's worth of data, eh?
Gee, I wonder why they only cherry-picked five years? /s
Which five years?

Well I should think so!

Every first year physics student can tell you that heat rises.

Geeez!

Sorry Jim.

It is not SeeBS, it is CBC, an even more virulent form of socialist propaganda that we Canucks have to pay for through out taxes.

Yea, well you don't own the sources of carbon... so we're not buying into your "you must pay us for everything you do in order to save the planet" scam.

Back in 1975, I sold my place in the Rockys because it was supposed to be under a mile of ICE by now. Last time I checked, it was ice free and owned by someone else.

I was also told that the South would be the grain basket of the USA as the northern grain states would also be under a mile of ice by now.
Then in the 1990s we were told the arctic would be ice free by now. Should I keep my stock in Trans-Arctic Shipping Inc. or sell at a loss.

Bastardi tracks this warm up and agrees the arctic winters have been warmer over the past decades...of course going from about -40F to -30F, way below freezing. Meanwhile, the average SUMMER temps have not exceeded the averages and lately have not even made the recorded average. His conclusion: more snow will fall within the circle evidenced by the snow accumulations in Greenland over the past few winters. Furthermore, unless the average summer temps rise too, he is not worried.

I think Canada is a beautiful place but I feel sorry about how your socialism makes life difficult for you guys.

Lets’ say CBC = Complete Bull and Counterfeit

As you know the Delusional Lying Left in the U.S. is trying to make our life as miserable as possible as they are doing in your country and around the world.

The Right is good at complaining about what it doesn’t like. Around the world, the Right needs to get a handle on what the Right’s goals are. The goal for us in America is the recovery of our Free Constitutional Republic.

“But the report says if nations meet their greenhouse gas reduction targets under the Paris agreement, changes in the Arctic will stabilize to a new normal some time around 2040.”

That is not scientific truth by the science opinions and models that the “climate change” alarmists use.

Included in those models is the atmospheric “shelf life” of CO2, which can be extremely long they claim.

How long? Long enough that massive adjustments now will still leave enough CO2 continuing to be added to the atmosphere, on top of the amounts that are there now and will take a long time to go away, and such that it could be 100 to 200 years before actual total atmospheric CO2 begins to reverse.

Human resources would be more economically spent developing all the ways of adjusting to and mitigating “climate change” than chasing CO2 at increasingly massive costs from increasingly more costly energy & CO2 rules.

Besides the solar effect, which is the only significant contributor to cooling and warming of our climate patterns, the earth does wobble considerably through natural forces. The Fukushima earthquake was strong enough to alter the axis of earth, which impacted where the sun’s direct rays hit and don’t hit, which in turn affects climate patterns. I would much rather be warmer than cooler if we are talking about bringing on an Ice age. That benefits nothing except the Death Cult.

It can not be controlled (the ice melting) because the Arctic earthquakes can’t be controlled.

Even if the arctic warms a few degrees it's still way below freezing! Almost all the measurable warming is happening at the poles and It's Still Very Cold!
