Imagine this: 2018/2019/2020 are three years of declining revenues. Then the collective bargaining agreement expires. Lockout + replacement players = NFL death.

Exactly! The lack of awareness for the “real picture” doesn’t even enter their heads. Kinda like Target saying their loss of sales is NOT directly related to letting freaks take over their bathrooms & dressing rooms. Nope. Nothing to see here.

Next up: Ex-fans being called racists/bigots because they stopped watching/paying for the NFL freak show.

“but a repeat would put them into a difficult position.”

If they are under some drug induced illusion, season ticket sales will reflect the current actual turnstile counts, maybe even worse, by the time the Stupid Bowl has ended. They have effectively screwed the new guys leaving college after this season and I’ll wager many more will stay back and hope that something changes during the next year.

Darnold is a prime example as the rumors are that he will stay in school rather than come out, or not even become draft eligible so he can do a Archie Manning deal with the highest bidder.

But it’s the same when watching a game on TV. I’d find myself wandering off to go do a project or something just to escape the boredom.

Back when I would watch games, I would just DVR it, and then start watching it an hour in. That way I could skip over commercials and such, and be caught up by the end.

No doubt that Goodell will get his "plane for life" in his new contract. It's not going to be a G-5, though:

After a few minor repairs, she'll be as good as new! lmao

Which team offer long term season tickets? Each is renewable each year along with any price increases.

I’m hoping for 1 billion in losses!

If you add the footling $100MM donation to the projected $920MM loss of revenue, you will get your wish.

Just yesterday I expressed my gut instinct the viewership was down 10-30%. Now it is pegged at 20. LOL

I suggested it was going to cost them, and sure enough it’s heading toward $1 billion bucks.

In life we have all seen that one employee that cost a business more than it realized. For the NFL ir was Kapernick.

He has cost them nearly $1 billion so far, and the NFL just announced it will dedicate $100 million more to social justice projects.

I guess the goal is to achieve $2 billion in net losses ASAP. I’d wish them good luck with that, but they’re doing just fine without me.

These are some VERY SERIOUS fools.

Best part of the whole show is, they’re still making up PC reasons for the decline! None of them will touch the real reason.

I wish one “name” player would retire and would walk away midseason over the NFL’s response and funding of racist causes. They would be a hero in a lot of people’s eyes and set themselves up for a future political career. I think, however, everyone in the NFL is blinded by the fog of the MSM.

“where the NFL gets most of its money”

In a certain sense, the answer is taxpayers.

I meant people who have bought season tickets year-after-year will not be buying them in 2018.

In September, Forbes put the average value of the 32 NFL teams at $2.5 billion, with an 8% (!!) increase from the prior year.

If the average valuation drops 20%, that'd be a loss of $16 billion in value. Personally, I'd like to see at least a 75% drop, or $60 billion loss of value to these elitist leftist owners.

Love hockey... even though my Islanders have been anything but average for decades...

However, this year feels different... Ho-Seng and Barzal are the real deals... that Barzal hos a little Gretzky in him...

Regardless... Let’s Go Islanders... and the Rangers Suck!

LOL...

What portion of the losses in TV revenue has the NFL taken so far? Or did the sell the broadcast on rights for a fixed figure and the networks are the one holding the bag for large, fixed costs and declining revenue?

Maybe they’ll have some aged rock group from the 80’s to perform during half-time in the SB - get some grandads to finally watch to increase their viewership.
