I’m hoping for a billion . . . that’s a really nice round number.

What else have the networks lost money on that is still in business?

Massive losses - so what does the NFL propose??

A $100 million payment/settlement/shake-down to Kaepernick/BLM inspired SJWs.

That is every fan’s money being spent - right there.

The stupidity, elitism and tone-deafness of the NFL management continues to amaze me.

The losses so far are not chicken feed by any measure.

And they shall only compound from here on out, as the fan base continues to be cannibalized.

Actions have consequences. The cause and effect do appear to be closely related in this instance.

Don't think the NFL's declining viewership is purely the result of the anthem protests

I agree. It's undoubtedly a factor. But, people have been turning away from the NFL for several years now for a variety of reasons.

If we can shunt the energy and attention put into pro sports into awareness and action in politics we can change the USA forever.

I’ve long thought that the only thing stopping a revolution now is football.

Progressives claim the decline in viewership is not related to the anthem protests. They are wrong. I visited my wife’s family on Thanksgiving. They are Texans and very devoted football fans. Without exception they are boycotting the NFL. If the NFL has lost Texas, it is in deep, deep trouble.

NHL Hockey, on the other hand, is now very watchable and enjoyable.

Agreed. No thugs, no ugly tattoos visible, no wife beatings, no SJW's, no kneeling, fast pace and unlike the NFL, you watch a game in 2+ hours.

Like my Dad, I was a YYYUUUGE Jets and Giants fan, through thick and thin since I was a kid. When he passed away we actually took some solace in knowing you could see Met Life Stadium from his gravesite. I’ll admit it’s a little sad but I don’t know how the Jets and Giants are doing this season and I don’t GAFF. When Goodell and the overpaid kneelers who refuse to straighten up get the sh!tcanning they so richly deserve and there’s some basic attitudinal changes in the NFL all the way to upper mgmt. then, MAYBE then I’ll reconsider my boycott. ASSuming the NFL is still in existence.

You maybe on to something.

Does anyone have the numbers on the NFL showing:

1. Revenue from ticket sales.
2. Revenue from merchandise sales.
3. Revenue from stadium advertising
4. Revenue from stadium food/beverage
5. Revenue from television.

I am trying to get a sense of where the NFL gets most of its money and where they are most vulnerable to fewer fans.

The owners yesterday announced they figured out how to stanch the losses! Problem solved...
The NFL and a group of players reached an agreement in principle late Wednesday night to partner on a plan to address social justice issues considered important to African-American communities, ESPN has learned.

The unprecedented agreement calls for the league to contribute nearly $100 million over seven years to projects dealing with criminal justice reform, law enforcement/community relations and education.

The fans are sure to love them giving in to the crybabies like this.

My family is liberals.

They complained about the “Neanderthals boycotting the NFL”.

But—they weren’t watching the games!

Agreed. The NFL is now trying to pay off the protesters.

They’ve lost their base, core fans, and they’re doing more to offend them.

College football is enough for me. I is certainly a more pure form of the game than the NFL. My interest in the NFL was fading before the thug kneelers took over.

Wait until the CBA expires in 2020, then all hell is going to break loose. The owners are going to have tremendous leverage bringing down contracts norms, and that is not even including the potential of removing NFL tax exemptions.

🏈🐂💩. Butt, butt, butt, where they gonna get that $100 million for sjw initiatives? Guess it'll have to come out of players pay checks. Those offended folks can afford it.
