TSN reports that its MLB views are way up at the same time as the NFL views are down. Don't think the NFL's declining viewership is purely the result of the anthem protests (some of it is part of the natural trend of people pirating broadcasts & opting out of cable packages), but most of it is due to Kaepernick & the rest of the bunch.

Does anyone have the numbers on the NFL showing:

1. Revenue from ticket sales.
2. Revenue from merchandise sales.
3. Revenue from stadium advertising
4. Revenue from stadium food/beverage
5. Revenue from television.

I am trying to get a sense of where the NFL gets most of its money and where they are most vulnerable to fewer fans.

The owners yesterday announced they figured out how to stanch the losses! Problem solved...
The NFL and a group of players reached an agreement in principle late Wednesday night to partner on a plan to address social justice issues considered important to African-American communities, ESPN has learned.

The unprecedented agreement calls for the league to contribute nearly $100 million over seven years to projects dealing with criminal justice reform, law enforcement/community relations and education.

The fans are sure to love them giving in to the crybabies like this.

Agreed. The NFL is now trying to pay off the protesters.

Imagine this: 2018/2019/2020 are three years of declining revenues. Then the collective bargaining agreement expires. Lockout + replacement players = NFL death.

No doubt that Goodell will get his "plane for life" in his new contract. It's not going to be a G-5, though:

After a few minor repairs, she'll be as good as new! lmao

Just yesterday I expressed my gut instinct the viewership was down 10-30%. Now it is pegged at 20. LOL

I suggested it was going to cost them, and sure enough it’s heading toward $1 billion bucks.

In life we have all seen that one employee that cost a business more than it realized. For the NFL ir was Kapernick.

He has cost them nearly $1 billion so far, and the NFL just announced it will dedicate $100 million more to social justice projects.

I guess the goal is to achieve $2 billion in net losses ASAP. I’d wish them good luck with that, but they’re doing just fine without me.

These are some VERY SERIOUS fools.

Best part of the whole show is, they’re still making up PC reasons for the decline! None of them will touch the real reason.

I wish one “name” player would retire and would walk away midseason over the NFL’s response and funding of racist causes. They would be a hero in a lot of people’s eyes and set themselves up for a future political career. I think, however, everyone in the NFL is blinded by the fog of the MSM.

In September, Forbes put the average value of the 32 NFL teams at $2.5 billion, with an 8% (!!) increase from the prior year.

If the average valuation drops 20%, that'd be a loss of $16 billion in value. Personally, I'd like to see at least a 75% drop, or $60 billion loss of value to these elitist leftist owners.

What portion of the losses in TV revenue has the NFL taken so far? Or did the sell the broadcast on rights for a fixed figure and the networks are the one holding the bag for large, fixed costs and declining revenue?

MSNBC explains to their viewers/readers that the boycott is made up of people mad that no team has picked Kapernick. Seriously, and their viewers believe them.

Did the plight of the “oppressed” get worse overnight? Why are the NFL players so concerned about social justice causes now, after so many years of respecting the flag and the anthem? What do they do “for the cause” after they leave the gridiron?

Television advertisers don't pay on published viewership figures, they pay on their own, much the same way as political campaigns depend on internal polls for accurate forecasts. (Side note: Hillary's didn't and that didn't end well for them.) We really don't know what they'll bring to the negotiating table prior to next season's buy but it certainly isn't going to constitute a larger figure for a smaller audience. That's serious money; in fact, it's the most serious money in the entire operation. Season ticket sales are an indicator, TV advertising sales are the real meat.

As gargantuan as NFL economics is, that business might have 20% fat to burn on a one-time basis, but 20% down on a longer term basis is a downsize. They won't get the difference from the federal government in an 0bama-administration GM bailout arrangement, not under Trump. They won't get it from boosting ticket prices because those just aren't large enough to make a difference. It has to be TV advertisers, and those pay for performance, not promises.

When the NFL hired that longtime, filthy Clinton ass-resident Joe Lockhart, you had to understand that yes, the Clintonian tentacles were deliberately being extended into the NFL itself—by the Clinton cabal.

They will do their very best to destroy the institution of football. They are still very much the face of the democrat party, and their evil CS Lockhart is ruthless on their behalf.

How I hate the GD Clintons and their many fully-owned minions.
