Important - Flynn says he was told to contact Russians: According the FBI statement, Flynn communicated with Kislyak after being asked by a senior Trump transition official to find out how foreign governments stood on the coming UN Security Council resolution about Israel.
Crime of the Century here, folks.
Federal Law?
Flynn’s court filings and plea agreement.
> Regardless would this not be a violation of the Logan Act?
No.
Incoming administrations do this all the time.
It’s called “diplomacy”.
The meeting Flynn is being roasted about took place just two weeks before Trump’s inaugurationm and had NOTHING AT ALL to do with election tampering.
I don’t know what this gets them, except headlines with which to advance the chances of demonRAT candidates in the 2018 mid-terms.
If what you say is true, then 0bama officials should be under investigation for the same violations, since it is common knowledge they were negotiating American troop withdrawals with the Iraqis before 0bummer’s coronation.
I agree, it’s all fair game. That won’t help Flynn though.
Mueller went with the violation he could most easily prove. That is the most straight-forward explanantion of today's events. Flynn has been sunk by this investigation financially and emotionally. They got him to talk--but there is little he has to say.
Ridiculous. Even Mueller is not going to hang a case on criminalizing foreign policy.
The content of the communications at this time is irrelevant.
Flynn lied about how many contacts were made. That’s enough leverage to get Flynn to say about anything now to save his own hide.
That includes Mueller and Comey crimes in covering up wrongdoing of HRC and others.
Of course Flynn would be asked that....that’s what’s done in transitional Presidents....sheesh....media just keeps trying to make a story where there is none.
It looks like all these stories written are done so the pundits have something to chatter about.....news itself went out the door long ago.. it’s all about them and their stories.
