Russia, surrounded by enemies, is readying to fight an epic war for survival. At least that’s what Vladimir Putin wants his countrymen to think. Nearly every evening, Russian state-controlled television leads news broadcasts with video of Russian planes in action over Syria, interspersed with images of NATO tanks and troops menacing Russia’s borders. On 60 Minut, Russia’s top-rated political talk show, analyst Nikita Isayev recently spoke of Russia’s “great victory” in Syria heralding the country’s return to “superpower status.” And in late November, Putin put Russian business on alert: “The ability of our economy to increase military production and services at a given time is one of the most important aspects of military security,” he told a meeting of top military brass in Sochi. “All strategic and simply large-scale enterprise should be ready.”
Like much Russian propaganda, the Kremlin’s claim that the country is at war is based on a kernel of truth. But it’s a very small kernel. In Syria, a single squadron of around 36 Russian combat aircraft serviced by 4,751 personnel based mostly at the Khmeimim airfield has been in action since September 2015. And in eastern Ukraine, Russian regular soldiers in unmarked uniforms have been spotted patrolling alongside rebel irregulars—most recently in the middle of November, when several hundred anonymous troops known as “little green men” showed up in the rebel city of Luhansk to prevent a bloody power struggle between separatist leaders who broke away from Kiev in the summer of 2014.

If Trump did prepare Newsweak would complain he was a war monger. So why ask?
Tell Newspeak that the 1980s called President Obama and told him they want back Mitt Romney’s Cold War politics.
Putin’s been prepping for war since Libya(2014). Right now Russia’s in better shape to survive a nuclear war than we are. They’ve rebuilt their fallout shelter system, modernized their nukes, and debugged their next gen delivery vehicles.
During this same period the US government failed to build a working Tritiumn production plant to refresh our aging nuclear stockpile. The plant we built literally didn’t work. There’s some question if our existing nukes are fully functional.
I certainly hope that President Trump is preparing.
What would the alternative be?!

Didn’t Newswreck report a false story that US troops at Gitmo flushed Korans down the toilet thereby causing a riot in Pakistan where 20 people were killed (or some muzzie country).
Trump can only do so much when the establishment wants all the funds for undocumented voters to fill their permanent underclass plantation.
When can we expect the mainstream media to tackle that problem???

That is only prudent of them. If they were smaller and weaker, Moscow would look like Tripoli or Aleppo already.
Any national leader’s first duty is to see to the security of THAT nation’s people. Putin’s doing his job. Trump is trying to, despite the obstructions of the uniparty and Transnationale.

You have to admit, civilian knowledge of nuclear warfare survival technique has faded away badly in the last 50 years.
As a former USAF instructor in NBC survival, I’ve still got the knowledge but I don’t know anybody else who does. Hell, I’d be happy to see a reprint of the old Civil Defense handbooks.
