John McCain, battling brain cancer, in Walter Reed from effects of treatment
WaPo ^ | 14 Dec 2017 | Paul Kane

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has been admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for recovery from the side effects of another round of treatment for brain cancer, according to his office.

McCain, who missed a third straight day of Senate votes Wednesday, has been undergoing rounds of chemotherapy and radiation to treat glioblastoma, the terminal form of brain cancer he was diagnosed with in July. McCain has been undergoing treatments since early September at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, next to Walter Reed.

Two friends close to McCain, requesting anonymity to speak about his condition, said there were no plans for the senator to resign. In a statement issued from his office, McCain hopes to return “to work as soon as possible.”

Republican leaders expect to hold a vote early next week on the sweeping tax-cut plan that is currently in a House-Senate negotiation. The Senate version initially passed with 51 votes. If McCain missed the vote on final passage, Republicans would not be able to afford a single additional defection or absence to pass the legislation.

They better get a vote soon before he is unable to vote and goes into the final stages of cancer.

I had breast cancer and went through chemo and radiation. There is areal thing called chemo fog. Everything is just kind of hazy. That alone should be a reason for them to ‘retire’ when diagnosed with a disease such as his.

I'm not a McCain fan but no one deserves the misery of cancer. McCain's handling it with dignity and courage which is admirable... Prayers for his recovery... and a drawback of pain.

A glioblastoma is an extremely fast growing, invasive tumor, which can duplicate its size in less than a month, intertwining itself around the brain area as it grows. There really isn’t any treatment other than extending life for several months, unless in the rare cases the growth is somehow arrested. He could possibly be having seizures which is normal progression and probably why he is in the hospital.

"Of course this has nothing to do with news coming out that may implicate him with to the dossier...no, of course not."

Out of deference to his life of service ( I am not going to comment ya or nay, just follow me here ), I wonder if the "Big Ugly" will be held off until after he passes. I can see PDJT being that gracious and the IG and Sessions...

Well at least it’s not the wretched Napolitano.
