Former Pentagon UFO official: 'We may not be alone'

(CNN)A former Pentagon official who led a recently revealed government program to research potential UFOs said Monday evening that he believes there is evidence of alien life reaching Earth.

"My personal belief is that there is very compelling evidence that we may not be alone," Luis Elizondo said in an interview on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront."

A pair of news reports in The New York Times and Politico over the weekend said the effort, the Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program, was begun largely at the behest of then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, who helped shore up funding for it after speaking to a friend and political donor who owns an aerospace company and has said he believes in the existence of aliens.

I can’t imagine any advanced civilization, even ones just a hundred years or so ahead of us will stay biological. It will be nothing but machines or whatever existence evolves after machine intelligence.

We can't be the only life in the universe. Think about the planets around the sun (of course some of those planets have years of a few Earth days), but if 1% of the planet have intelligent life (Does that mean no liberals?) it would be lots.

There probably are many advanced civilizations. And the chances of them even being in our galaxy are probably close to zero.

I would think that if life was able to spring up anywhere (other than Earth) then it would be virtually everywhere. On Earth, life can be found in every extreme climate/environment this planet has to offer. Wouldn't it follow the same concept everywhere else?

Any advanced civilization would have as rule number one--don't broadcast on the electromagnetic spectrum!
