There is more to this story.

I saw in another report that the woman who was presumably bumped had actually cancelled her ticket using an app on her cell phone. Then she showed up at the gate with a paper ticket that she had printed out.

I’m thinking that what happened is that the woman was trying to check on her flight and accidentally cancelled it. The airline responded by giving her seat to someone else.

While Sheila Jackson Lee is a partisan hack of the worst kind, I actually think she is innocent in this particular incident.
