I’m OK with the switch on Doctor Who. It’s a show about millenia-old alien who time travels and can rebuild his (now her) body every time it’s near fatally injured or aged. The real-world reason the process of “regeneration” was introduced is because William Harnell, the original star’s health was declining and he was having trouble remembering his lines, causing major headaches for production schedules.
The network didn’t want to lose an extremely popular and profitable show, so they took advantage of the fact that their lead character was an alien and gave him the ‘superpower’ of being able to rebuild his body, allowing the part to be recast indefinitely whenever the lead actor decided to move on.
The Doctor being played by a woman doesn’t even crack the top ten bizarre things to happen on that show and certainly isn’t out of the question within the shoe’s mythology.
But a female 007 would be pandering, pure and simple.
Doctor Who is dead. There is nothing ok with this BS switch. This is all political. In fact it was addressed decades ago. (pregnant time ladies rejenerate what happens to the baby? abortion?)
The latest doctor was a ratings failure, this Doctor SJW is a failure already. The merchandising is dead.

Yes, BUT the reason why the show’s producers brought in a woman was to deliberately go all SJW on their fans. It had nothing to do with the character. It’s just about pushing a left wing agenda about women and power.
