Stop attempting to control the comments of others. If they stay within the rules they can say what they want. You need to butt out.

I think ‘accessory to murder’.

Unbelievable.

The very basic problem is that Louie linked to an article which spends most of it’s time talking about the police actions.

He should have written his own article with sole focus on the kid.

Fifty years alright, but since it happened to me, it made an impression.

If you something more recent, how about that poor guy begging for his life - and then shot five times with an AR-15?

We need something better in the way of police.

Then we need cops with a lot more courage.

“We need something better in the way of police.”

And what do you suggest?

We need to have a much higher standard of intelligence and training for our police force - and a solid commitment to protect our citizens.

I was a career Marine. We knew from the first that we were potentially offering our lives for our country and many of us did. That was commitment. We also had a very high standard of training and we were held to an equally high standard in combat.

Our police are supposed to on the front line against the criminals and terrorists against us. They should have enough courage and training to protect people instead shooting the hell out of some poor guy just because he “made a furtive movement”. The object should be that they’re willing to risk their lives for us: if they can’t do that, they shouldn’t be police officers.

In other words, our police should be held to the same standards as Marines.

And why is swatting so enticing to those people? Because they know the danger to the person they swatted. It’s not like they called dominos pizza. They know cops will shoot if it’s a good swatting. ID10T

” ———They should have enough courage and training to protect people instead shooting the hell out of some poor guy just because he “made a furtive movement”. “

And a miniscule percentage of cops shoot some poor guy for making a furtive movement. Most of the approximately 600,000 LEOs don’t.

My son spent only 3 months at Parris Island yet he spent 6 months in the police academy-———so who is better trained?

And that 3 months in Boot Camp wasn't the end of his training, was it? We trained every week that we weren't actually deployed and you know it.

The difference is that we Marines - your son included - knew that we had committed our lives to each other and our country. Today's police officer (I refuse to use the term "LEO") is a unionized sort committed to going home every night with an iffy weight and physical condition standard.

Remember the cops at Columbine? Overweight oafs in body armor that waited until the killers had killed themselves before going in. What were the cops in Vegas doing? What took 70 minutes to finally go into that guy's room to take him out - after he had already killed himself?

I'm all over supporting our police but I'd prefer to believe that they had the guts to take on an active shooter and not shoot me in the process.

He needs to be facinf felony murder charges and the gunman who shot the citizen needs to be facing at least Voluntary Manslaughter.

The real killer is when several cops give contradictory instructions and failure to obey each and every instruction elicits an immediate death sentence. The cops involved get “job well done” accolades back at the station and off on any charges that might result.

There was a rash of these things a few years ago that abated. It seems to be coming back like a resurrected fad. If it gets bad enough then the citizens will start feeling that if the cops comes to the door you might as take one with you because you are going to get killed.

The originator of this post appears to believe that the actions of the ‘swatter’ and that of the police are separate with the ‘swatter’ responsible for the ENTIRE outcome. This is akin to a ‘medical poser’ giving false information to a surgeon who then based on that info UNNECESSARILY operates on a patient resulting in that patients death. Both surgeon AND police have failed to exercise their sworn DUE DILIGENCE in ascertaining the truth. In my world of medicine and corrections/law enforcement both physician and officers are at GREATER liability than the ‘posers’ due to their SWORN DUTY to base their actions on TRUTH.

This is an old thread on the incident, here’s a newer one for those who cannot control their nonstop BLM-type anti-law enforcement psycho-ranting. Enjoy!

How is an online forum, where people posts articles specifically with the intention that others will comment on them, in any way similar to butting in on a conversation?

The guys who threatens me “from behind the anonymity and distance of the internet” says he’ll put a boot up my rear is telling me to “grow up”. I suppose the double irony of your rude post completely escapes you.

You’re welcome to bring your boot to Wisconsin and give it a try any time, buck-o.
