It does get tiresome. Maybe some of these folks could follow-through on their bravado in real life, maybe they couldn't, but I think its better for people to keep their mouths shut for fear of not living up to their own heroic self-image.

FYI, one of the deputies shot, is the son of the Boulder County Sheriff. (Source; fellow church member who is a close friend of the sheriff).

I agree - would appreciate more respect as well. The mother and father in law of the fallen deputy are very active members of my church. The deputy was a young man with a wife and 2 small children.
