A country without borders ceases to exist. The left wants US taxpayers to support the world under global socialism.

California economy depends on undocumented workers

The South depended on their slaves... what's your point?

The problem with mechanized fruit picking is it begets “engineered” fruit suitable for that type of harvesting. Usually rack hard and tasteless fruits...

That's what gourmet supermarkets are for - so people who don't want the "rack hard and tasteless fruits" can have a choice.

Except that we have developed farm machinery which can pick lettuce flawlessly now.

Amazing how Adam Smith's Invisible Hand works, isn't it?

Adam Smith has nothing to do with domestic agriculture for the domestic market.

Whole towns in LA, Realto for example, are illegal immigrants. California will collapse if the laws of the land are enforced. Without their slaves whatever will the Democrats do?

Someday we will be pulling down statues of Democrats.

They also come here to excape justice in their home countries. A land where they don’t enforce the law on you is heaven for criminals.

A video difficult to watch would be one of Kate Steinle dying in her father's arms after being shot by an illegal alien.

The implicit challenge in the post made me want to respond as I normaly react to arrogant criminals and their supporters.

Thank you for your response, which is more appropriate than the anger I had in mind.

Without illegals to pick crops a head of lettuce would cost $2,500 per head! You’d have to transport them in armored cars.

With U.S. residents like you, who needs foreign enemies?

THIS author is running for Diane Feinstein’s Senate position.

That explains everything.
Good to know if a normal non-pervert Republican candidate ever shows up...

“In California, 1 in 10 workers is undocumented, approximately 3 million in all. They pay an estimated $3 billion in state and local taxes. They contribute $180 billion annually to our GDP. To attack them, as the president has, is to attack our economic prosperity..”

Anyone, who believes this tripe has to be a Californicating Liberal, with an IQ of 60 due to a lot of pot smoking.

Or believing, “Yeah sure, they are flocking here like Geese to get those IT jobs across California, for good jobs in Sillycon valley and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Then, other undocumented citizens become STEM teachers and professors in our public schools and universities. |

Finally, some really smart and dedicated undocumented ones become MDs, Dentists and RN’s.

Modern business depends on modern slaves.

When your business model depends on slave labor, you're always going to need more slaves.

The same is said about the South during the Pre-Civil War, that it was totally dependent on slave labor. Historically, it wouldn’t be the first time for the Democrat’s economic plan?

So I’d guess with California.... they need all those undocumented labor to work for a few dollars so they can keep their 13$ an hour minimum wage? lol

Cash Remittances to Mexico Set $26B Record in 2017, Says Central Bank

Individuals outside of Mexico who sent money home in 2017 broke all prior records with more than $26.1 billion in 11 months. The latest figures from Mexico’s Central Bank (Banxico) show 2017 being a record-breaking year for receiving remittances by Mexicans abroad. From January to November 2017, Mexicans sent $26,167,00,000, the highest figure to date. In 2016, another record-setting year, Mexicans sent $24.1 billion. Banxico reports that 97 percent of the funds sent to Mexico came through wire transfers. Mexico’s second largest source of income was the export of oil for $18.5 billion in the first 10 months of 2017.

According to CNN Money, the broken records reflected a weakening of the peso and an alleged threat by the Trump Administration to tax remittances.
