Great. So when someone is breaking into your house at 2 am who are you going to call? Not the police I hope if thats the way you feel. That would be rank hypocrisy. Saves on my tax dollars if we need less police
Someone breaking into my house at 2 AM, I will call Mr Smith and Mr Wesson.
Then I will seek to change the perp’s heart and mind. Two in the heart, one in the mind.
Then I will place my weapon on the floor at my feet, grab my cell phone and go outside. I will prepare to lie down, arms out, and my ID near my head.
Only then will I call the police.
“A man* was breaking into my house. I was in fear for my life, and I shot him. I am unarmed, lying on the ground outside my home. I will say no more without an attorney present.”
*usually
Hate to say but there are too many cases of people calling the police for burglars or prowlers and when the police show up they kill the person who called them.
But it’s all perfectly justifiable so it’s okay.
Why the heck would I call the police? By the time they got there I would be dead. And if I was not then they would likely correct that error.
They get called AFTER the problem has been dealt with so they can do what they are paid to do. Paper work.
I will call my lawyer, and then I will call the cops - AFTER I have stopped the person from breaking in to my house.
The police are nothing but a clean-up crew. 99.9999% of the time they are not in a position to prevent someone from breaking in to your house, and they are not even legally obligated to stop such a break in if they see it happening.
If someone is breaking into my house or a house near me, the cops wouldn’t be needed.
There’s very few situations that can be improved by calling the police.
There was a lady in Minneapolis who heard a noise and called the police...and now she's dead. What now?
The police would not get there in time. If I get an intruder at 2am, I would be having to deal with him myself.
I'm going to dial 1911.
When there is a threat to your life, YOU are the first responder.
YOU.
Not somebody in a uniform miles away.
YOU.
Are YOU prepared?
