Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon was just about to attack Michael Wolff for his book Fire and Fury when he decided to put a hold on the plans after President Donald Trump went all out in his criticism of his former staffer, reports CNN.
Shortly after the first excerpts of the book were released in which Bannon was quoted as saying that Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., was “treasonous” and “unpatriotic,” the former chief strategist planned to call the book “another lefty hatchet job.” But then Trump released his own statement saying Bannon had “lost his mind” and the former aide went back on his plans.
“As I said during my interview with 60 Minutes and many times since, there is no basis to the Russian investigation. It’s a political witch hunt orchestrated by the left,” Bannon’s statement was allegedly going to say, according to CNN’s source. “Don Jr., like his father, is a great American and a patriot. And we all know Don Jr. did not knowingly meet with Russian agents. Paul Manafort is an independent actor who clearly put his own interests ahead of the campaign and all involved. Michael Wolff took my remarks about Don Jr. out of context to sell his book. Sadly, this is yet another lefty hatchet job intended to disrespect our President and his supporters.”
CNN is not the first to report that Bannon was getting ready to criticize Wolff’s book before Trump decided to insult his former aide.

The deep state and Uniparty want nothing more urgently than to isolate (and eventually dispose of) president Trump. They have had long experience in sabotaging any outsiders who come into their midst, but they never reckoned Donald J. Trump. They are going into overdrive to gaslight the man. Bannon should have known that. If Trump jumped down his throat via twitter, Bannon should take a look at the crap salad that he helped enable to be served at the White House.
Trump will need all the allies he can get. Hopefully, this can have a happy resolution, especially since Bannon has already been fired. Trump needs to look to future employees, not dwell on past ones. He also needs all the friends he can get.
BS! He had no intention of blasting Wolff or he would have done it sooner. Trump’s “insult” shouldn’t prevent him from debunking it either unless he’s emotionally an 8 yr old in short pants. And how is the “context” of accusing someone of treason misconstrued?

Correct. Bannon was all in for Cruz. Only when Trump’s primary victory was a fait accompli did Bannon come aboard.

Sloppy Steve has always just been out for himself and doesn't give a damn about what or who he ruins.
Trump has gotten a lot done, which sadly never gets reported on by the MSM, nor even by FNC.
Bannon waited too long to deny anything.
His interview on 60p Minutes should have been your first clue.
Oh I don’t believe that for a second. There is no way that Bannon wanted any part of this stupid book. Bannon might have gotten his comeuppance, but I am willing to bet that it will be as NOTHING compared to what happens to the misbegotten POS author!

The President’s new conference today was worth watching just to hear him refer to Bannon as “Sloppy Steve” several times.
Scalise is standing behind him smiling, like he’s about to bust out laughing.

Exactly, and there is the matter of his many destructive leaks. That is especially infuriating as he was supposed to be on Trump’s side.

As far as I know, Bannon still hasn’t blasted Wolff or denied what’s in the book.
Regardless of what Trump has said, nothing prevents Bannon to blast Wolff and correct the record now. In fact it would be to his benefit to do so.
So one can only conclude....
Then there are all of the leaks, Bannon sh*tstirrings, when he was on the Trump Train, his idiocy re the Alabama election, and the 60 Minutes interview.
It was Bannon who brought Wolff into the White House and had people talk to him.
Trump did NOT ever talk with Wolff!
Bannon still hasn't disavowed the book and this bogus clap trap about him wanting to do it earlier is bovine excrement!
The Mercers have disavowed him, pulled their money from him, and they claim to NOT have spoken with him/been in contact with him for many months. And THEY know him; unlike you!
