In case you missed the Golden Globes, talk from the night is whether Oprah Winfrey will run for president in 2020.
It started off with host Seth Meyers’s joke about the White House Correspondents’ Dinner when he said Donald Trump wasn’t qualified to be president.
“Some have said that night convinced him to run. So, if that’s true, I just want to say: Oprah, you will never be president! You do not have what it takes. And Hanks! Where’s Hanks? You will never be vice president. You are too mean and unrelatable. Now we just wait and see.”
Oprah, who would receive the Cecil B. DeMille award later that night, delivered a rousing speech that led many to wonder if she really is thinking about it.
"In my career, what I've always tried my best to do, whether on television or through film, is to say something about how men and women really behave. To say how we experience shame, how we love and how we rage, how we fail, how we retreat, persevere and how we overcome. I've interviewed and portrayed people who've withstood some of the ugliest things life can throw at you, but the one quality all of them seem to share is an ability to maintain hope for a brighter morning, even during our darkest nights.
"So I want all the girls watching here, now, to know that a new day is on the horizon! And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say 'Me too' again," she said.
It didn’t take long for the 2020 buzz to build.
Oprah has given mixed signals in the past about whether she'd be open to a future in politics.
In June she told The Hollywood Reporter, “I will never run for public office. That’s a pretty definitive thing.”
But, she’s also toyed with the idea, tweeting out a New York Post column in September titled “Democrats’ best hope for 2020: Oprah,” thanking the author for the “VOTE of confidence!”
Then there was her March interview with Bloomberg TV’s David Rubenstein, in which she suggested she was more open to the idea of running since Trump’s election, although she never named him.
“That’s what I thought,” Winfrey said. “I thought, ‘Oh gee, I don’t have the experience, I don’t know enough.’ And now I’m thinking, ‘Oh.’”
Her best friend quickly shut down talk of her running after that interview, however.
Either way, it may not be an idea people give up on too soon. After all, even major media outlets aren't hiding their bias about it.

Yep ... nailed it. Haven’t watch one of these crap productions in decades. Bunch of one percenters patting themselves on the back for pretending to be someone else.
I think you have to take Oprah seriously. She has built an empire and lots of women love her.
I’d be more worried about Oprah than Elizabeth Warren.
I think it will be a fight for Trump

Oprah, nice lady that goes nowhere politically...she has nary a clue about the real American folks that make the USA the greatest nation in the world, the USA military, the plumbers, the machinists, the oil drillers, the police, the firemen, the AMTs, the EMTs, the doctors, the nurses the caregivers, the Priests, the Rabbis, the Ministers, the aircraft mechanics, the truckers the railroad workers, the brick layers, the teachers, the homemakers, the church goers, the religious believers, etc., etc., etc.!!!
Bottom line...like failed “Hate America” POTUS, Obama...Oprah, while a great nice lady, is simply a 100% “Zero” as any kind of a politician. But......the Democrats are in full panic mode...seeking a candidate for POTUS in 2020. “SAD”!!!

I think the sort who would reflexively vote for Oprah are the sort who voted last time for Hillary. Oprah would have a lock on about 25% of Hillary’s base. After that, she would have to earn votes.
Will she sell the rest of OWN ?
I think she would get more than Hillary. She’d get all the black vote and a lot of women.
I think she seems cooler than Trump, so she’d get the young millenia vote.
Hopefully,having to pay lower taxes will help improve Trump’s chances.
All these trial balloons about celebrities becoming president. I say, let them run! It will be fun to watch.

there are about 10million people who love Oprah and would do anything she said. They are already Hillary/Kamala/Pocohauntas voters.
The rest of the US thinks of her as a back lady on TV with a big ass and a gay boyfriend.
She is gonna get that big ass handed to her by demorata if she even enters the first primary.

We also underestimate how many women voted for Trump and how many of those women watch Oprah. :) I believe more victories are ahead for Trump and for conservatives.
The vibe I got from the Golden Globes yesterday was one of people who sense their grasp on the culture slipping through their fingers.
Just what this country DOES NOT need, a mouthy black woman who thinks she’s above the world. I am not against a female for president, just not that one. Nikki Haley might be a possibility, let’s see where she goes in the next year or so. Too early to start talking about who will run anyway.
