Trump's nightmare
Axios ^ | 14 January 2018 | Mike Allen

Posted on 01/15/2018 5:04:18 AM PST by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

Trump's day of reckoning ... The one thing that could dramatically diminish President Trump’s chances of avoiding impeachment and chalking up legislative wins is Democrats winning the House.

• And, thanks to series of recent developments, Trump knows this no longer just seems plausible, but probable.

• Hill sources tell us that a House Democratic takeover is now likely.

• One strategist close to Republican leaders believes that a loss of the House is "baked in," and said top Republicans don't see a way to avoid it.

• It would take a flip of 24 seats for Dems to take over. The average loss for the president's party in his first midterm is about 32 seats, and we're hearing forecasts of 40+ losses.

You can’t predict outcomes this far out, but these hard facts scare the hell out of Republicans:

• Eight House GOP chairs have retired: You don’t climb to the top of power in Congress and leave unless you feel confident your reign will soon end. (Another factor: Chairmanships are term-limited from a Gingrich-era reform.)

• Record retirements for GOP: Already, 29 GOP seats are open, a pace far exceeding the past two elections that saw power change hands.

• Democrats outperformed their norms in turnout, and in total votes, in all seven 2017 elections. This is a clear indicator of energy.

• Record number of Democratic women voting and considering running for office. This, more than anything, is a reaction to Trump and the #MeToo movement.

• In polls, voters prefer Democrats for Congress by a 10-point margin. There is no way to spin this: +10 is terrible in a 50/50 nation.

If anything, making RINOs irrelevant will clarify things. Trump only would have to deal with one enemy instead of two.

Ha! I think my heart would fail after pulling that lever!
Seriously though, something needs to happen to purge the Kabuki Theater players out of existence. Maybe a new ‘Trump Party’?

Axios is run by a Leftist liberal, Democrat.

Jim VandeHei
CEO/Co-Founder of Axios; Former CEO/Co-Founder of Politico; adviser, fan of The Information

Here is one of the predictions made by Hillary supporter Jim VandeHei:

Jim VandeHei: No “Serious” Challenges To Hillary, Every Democrat Who Wants A Job Is About To Work For Her

Dear Conservatives: Politico’s Jim VandeHei Is Playing You for Suckers … AgainByJohn Nolte

@NolteNC
October 6, 2016

Jim VendeHei, the left-winger who co-founded the left-wing Politico, is up to his old tricks again, and conservatives must not fall for them again. You might personally like VandeHei, but don’t let that cloud the fact that he is a brilliant conman with a very specific playbook (if you’ll pardon the pun). Don’t forget that in 2006, he ran this playbook on y’all and we all fell for it — and the results were catastrophic.

I say the Rats gaining Congress might actually HELP Trump’s re-election chances.

They aren’t going to Impeach him, that’s just talk.

Many of us here have warned that the Tax Bill would mostly likely lead to a loss of GOP seats in 20188. I believe there are 34 House Republicans in CA, NY, NJ, IL. Some of those, like Rep. Darrell Issa, are retiring. Issa was outspoken against the Tax Bill - warning it would screw over the middle class in his district.

Paul Ryan and Kevin McCarthy ignored him.

They were hell bent on giving corporations a tax cut from 35% to 21%, and needed money from individuals to "pay for it."

Weaponizing impeachment scares me. The charge for the liberal-wet-dream impeachment is that President Trump beat Hillary, which is “not allowed”. We may lose the last frayed threads holding the United States together if this goes forward, and this pattern will set the tone for our next 50 years.

Bill Ayers (one of Obama’s closest terrorist friends) put the number of dead needed at 25 million. Regardless of which side wins, he could easily be correct if the Left forces America to follow that route.

The Rats who will be challenging GOP seats will do so on the platform of impeaching Trump, and they have said that is what they will be running on, and campaigning for, throughout the campaign season (which is now starting).

There were a couple Rat women being interviewed on Saturday on the radio and both of them said just that: Their goal is to impeach Trump.

There’s the “voting for a mixed bag is voting for evil” card. Apparently only “true blue conservatives” do it. In the meantime progressives progress by choosing the candidate nearest to their wishes even if that candidate isn’t all there yet.

When Donald makes recommendations it would likely be wise to heed them.

There were a couple Rat women being interviewed on Saturday on the radio and both of them said just that: Their goal is to impeach Trump.

The Democrats conducted some early polling last summer as part of their 2018 House election strategy. To recapture the House they are focusing on a bunch of districts held by Republican House members that Hillary Clinton won in 2016.

Remarkably, they found that impeaching Trump had so little support even among Democrats in those districts -- and the attacks on Trump actually made his support stronger in 2017 in those districts than it was on Election Day in 2016.

That's why you never hear Democrat leadership talking about impeachment anymore. They leave that to moonbat mutants like Maxine Waters and Sheila Jackson-Lee who say this all the time. Their job is just to generate hostility against Trump among black voters so their turnout is high in 2018.
