There should be a law that elected positions cannot be held by family like royalty. No more Kennedy’s, Bush’s, Clinton’s, etc.

According to this ‘theory’ if the foreman of the Asphalt or Concrete crew dies in an accident - or gets laid up long time, his wife or girlfriend should be able to walk in the next day and take over his job.

the ‘old school’ Dems would start on the School Board and work their way up so every time an election came up they had good ‘name recognition’..
Rs wanted to start with the Senate and jump to Forbes/Romney and they want the ‘big job’ as a starter.
Even HRC would have benefited as BOs VEEP but I don’t imagine ANY #1 would sleep well if HRC was standing in the wings ready to ‘take over’ were something to ‘happen’ to him/her.
There was a reason that ‘dumb ass’ Joe Biden was chosen #2... NO American in their right mind would harm a hair on BOs chinny chin chin knowing Biden and or Pelosi were in the wings...
OTOH, ‘WE’ had little problem with Mary Bono taking Sonny Bonos seat....
The mayor , while still a Democrat, is working to clean up the neighborhoods and has continued revitalizing downtown Detroit. There is a slow trickle of white flight coming back to the city albeit, very slow.
Having someone other than a Conyers represent that district would help to let the people know that they have had enough of corrupt politicians.
That being said, there certainly still is a mentality that could get him elected.
Don’t be so sure that Detroit will just fall in line. They just re-elected a White guy as mayor who beat Coleman Young’s son 80/20 AND the Blacks who stayed home (50k) actually won Michigan for Trump.
Ian looks like he has a lot of the racist white DNA in him.
