The rise of David Bowdich, the former sniper in line to become the FBI’s new de

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is stepping down from his job and is expected to be replaced by David Bowdich, a senior official who headed the FBI’s response to the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, Calif., according to people familiar with the plans.

McCabe will formally retire in March but plans to leave the deputy director position now, a person close to the matter confirmed to The Washington Post’s Devlin Barrett and Matt Zapotosky on Monday. McCabe has often been a target of President Trump — who asked the deputy director in a private discussion whom he had voted for in the presidential election — and congressional Republicans, who have criticized the FBI for its Russia probe. He will use leave time to fill out his remaining time at the agency.

Here’s what we know about Bowdich:

He began his career as a police officer in New Mexico

The Albuquerque native graduated from New Mexico State University in 1991. He worked as an officer with the Albuquerque Police Department from 1991 to 1995, patrolling the Southeast and North Valley area commands, according to the Albuquerque Journal. He also worked as a detective during his time in the North Valley.

“He was very ambitious, very smart and very physically fit,” Deputy Police Chief Robert Huntsman told the Albuquerque Journal. Huntsman was a sergeant when Bowdich was a cadet at the police academy.

“He was an informal leader for the other cadets,” Huntsman said.

His favorite cops-and-robbers movie is “The Untouchables”

“Eliot Ness’ character was unyielding, tenacious, principled,” he told the Times’s Morrison. “That describes what a law enforcement professional should be.”~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Good choice!

“McCabe has often been a target of President Trump — who asked the deputy director in a private discussion whom he had voted for in the presidential election....”

Nice way to undercut one’s credibility in this article.

His CV is impressive particularly given Trump’s decidedly strong emphasis on anti terrorism, illegal immigration and “gangs.
He definitely has one thing a lot of FBI top executives lack. Real world and on the ground experience of the cop on the beat...

Hire a cabinet of ex navy seals to run the DOJ. Let them run the FBI.

Lon Horiuchi was a sniper, I would not want him heading the FBI

I think this dude might be related to Joe Bowdich who was Bernalillo County sheriff in the early 90’s.

“””a person close to the matter confirmed to The Washington Post’s Devlin Barrett”””

Does Lisa Page ever get off the phone with Devlin Barrett?

Is it a ‘for sure’ that Bowdich will be McCabe’s replacement or is it the deep state promoting his name?

“McCabe will formally retire in March but plans to leave the deputy director position now”

Funny, I don’t see how that comment comports with being fired. When you are told not to let the door knob hit you in the a$$ as you are leaving immediately, it doesn’t conjure up the idea that it was McCabe’s choice to “leave early!”

Same kind of glowing bios were printed about Comey when he was appointed and Mueller when he was appointed.

"McCabe has often been a target of President Trump — who asked the deputy director in a private discussion whom he had voted for in the presidential election"

So, in a supposedly hard news story the WaPo passes off second hand gossip based on an anonymous source as if it were established fact and despite the fact the WH has denied it.

More of the same. Another Wray who’ll be shocked, shocked, he’ll tell you that anything was amiss at FBI headquarters. Trump needs to find some agents working in Tulsa or somewhere and get them battlefield commissions to the upper echelons of the FBI in DC.

I don’t care about his credentials. I don’t want anyone who has been inside the FBI building for anything more than a visitor’s tour in any FBI position other than custodian or building maintenance supervisor.

It’d the other way around....

President Trump was often the target of that dirtbag McCabe.

McCabe told a group of FBI agents in January 2017, “First we f—k Flynn, then we f—k Trump.”

Also, if I have to hear Sean Hannity say the majority of the FBI are just wonderful people, I’m going to lose it.

The FBI has lost the integrity to appoint or carry snipers on its roster. That was 25 years ago too. Today the FBI needs to just be disbanded and reconstituted as something far more useful to the people, and far less expensive.
