The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence today made public a committee memo with information on abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Chairman Nunes issued the following statement:
"The Committee has discovered serious violations of the public trust, and the American people have a right to know when officials in crucial institutions are abusing their authority for political purposes. Our intelligence and law enforcement agencies exist to defend the American people, not to be exploited to target one group on behalf of another. It is my hope that the Committee's actions will shine a light on this alarming series of events so we can make reforms that allow the American people to have full faith and confidence in their governing institutions."

Yes. Not just yet though, more needs to come to the public view.
The reason a special counsel is needed is that both Sessions and Rosenstein will be viewed as too partisan, having an axe to grind against the elements of the outgoing administration who done them wrong during and after the campaign.
One nice thing about a special counsel, he, unlike the OIG, will have the power to bring charges. I'd say bring a special counsel just before Horowitz OIG report comes out. Special counsel would be appointed to investigate a select few for potential crimes; but could expand inquiry into wrongdoings depending on evidence. OIG report will have TONS of evidence.

I expect Congress and some pundits will start to clamor for a SC, just as happened with the "Russian collusion" frameup.

Schiff-for-brains was off the scale enraged. I realize he likely is rightly fearful that his treason/child sexual abuse stuff--e.g. at the Foundation? hotel in LA concerns him. But this memo didn't mention him. Wherefore his rage? Just over the exposure of the DIMRATS complicity in serious crimes?

Unfortunately, unless Rosenstein or Sessions makes a move, what will really happen? The last thing heard from the DOJ is “Don’t release the memo.”
Wish the pace were faster to full disclosure.
However, I realize the culture, society could likely not handle a much faster pace.
Been pondering this for some time at our house.
Normally, both of us are very merciful given that we need mercy up one side and down the other.
However, in this case, sooooooooo much public trust has been sooooooooo satanically shredded in soooooooooo many horrible ways for soooooooo long ... an attitude of mercy toward the major perps is hard to reach.
