Nunes memo raises question: Did FBI violate Woods Procedures?
The Hill ^ | Febuary 4,2017 | SHARYL ATTKISSON,

Presentation of any such unverified material to the Federal Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court to justify a wiretap would appear to violate crucial procedural rules, called “Woods Procedures,” designed to protect U.S. citizens.

Yet Comey allegedly signed three of the FISA applications on behalf of the FBI. Deputy Director Andrew McCabe reportedly signed one and former Attorney General Sally Yates, then-Acting Deputy Attorney General Dana Boente and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein each reportedly signed one or more.

It’s incredible to think of how many FBI and Justice Department officials would have touched the multiple applications to wiretap Trump campaign adviser Carter Page — allegedly granted, at least in part, on the basis of unverified and thus prohibited information — if normal procedures were followed.

The FBI’s complex, multi-layered review is designed for the very purpose of preventing unverified information from ever reaching the court. It starts with the FBI field offices.

According to former FBI agent Asha Rangappa, who wrote of the process last year in JustSecurity.org, the completed FISA application requires approval through the FBI chain of command “including a Supervisor, the Chief Division Counsel (the highest lawyer within that FBI field office), and finally, the Special Agent in Charge of the field office, before making its way to FBI Headquarters to get approval by (at least) the Unit-level Supervisor there.”

This is an eye opener....looks like this was done from the TOP and not fron the FBI branch to FBI headquarters and then the DOJ...

The Clintons have been liars, crooks, thieves, plus much worse for 40 years or so.

It will be interesting to see whether Carter Page’s revised lawsuit due tomorrow will include the names of the 5 who signed the FISA document!!!

Yes and more surprising is that The Hill published it. It will be interesting to keep your eye on Publications from the left to see if cracks start to appear where they start to realize there on the wrong side of history and start to hedge there bets.

It’s not just two or three top DOJ/FBI players that need to head to the Gray Bar hotel. There’s more who need to be tried, convicted, and sentenced than a person has fingers and toes. It’s going to be messy.

There is two ways to read this article. One the FBI and DOJ had to circumvent a lot of rules to get a FISA warrant and this points to huge corruption. Or.....there is a lot more to the warrant than we are aware of and while this one piece may be suspicious, overall the FISA warrant was justified. I’m just saying......emotions are the enemy of good science. We don’t know all the facts....and that’s the bottom line.

We don't know all the facts because the doj/fbi are withholding information and along with the dnc obstructing justice. Not something you do when the facts are on your side. Has this Page character actually been accused or indicted on anything? Has absolutely anything come from these fisa warrants other then a special prosecutor doing a witch hunt on Trump? If there was enough evidence to justify using US surveillance capabilities on an opposition campaign for POTUS, there would be some indictments by now.

Exactly.

The pendulum is just beginning to swing the other way.

We'll see more and more media outlets start to report what is going on and open the story wide-open.

It took a long time for the entire Watergate episode to come to head.

Now that this memo has been released with more to follow about the wrongdoings at the DOJ and FBI, it will accelerate the momentum of the investigation.

More of the press will want to jump on the bandwagon of the agency abuse story, rather than remain on the wrong side of history.

Obama is probably not the first president to us the fedz to harass political opponents.

Obama may not have been the first politician to use questionable means to undermine his opponents, but he probably was the first in a powerful position to deliberately undermine the United States of America.

He is a traitor. I don't care if he was an elected President. He should be hung.

I just don't see the “media” or the dems ever reversing course on this mess. They would need to eat too much crow. They live in an alternate reality. They will never agree with anything any repub does. It has been proved over and over. They switch sides at will. they are for something until a repub is for it then they are against.
