SWAMPSCOTT — An elementary school principal announced Tuesday that he is transgender and plans to start identifying and presenting himself as female.
Stanley School Principal Tom Daniels made the announcement in a letter to members of the school community. He said he will begin using his middle name, Shannon.
Superintendent Pamela Angelakis said she applauded Daniels' decision and admired his "courage, honesty and transparency."
Daniels asked that he be called "Principal Daniels" and said the pronouns "he," "she" and "they" are all acceptable.

You don’t get to tell me what pronouns are acceptable when speaking about you. You get to tell me your name. When I speak to you I use “you”. When I speak about you I use he she or it.
It is not your choice.

Principal Daniels has been married to a woman for 29 years; they have three children ages 16-23.
“Often times what I hear is, ‘well that must mean you’re gay and that must mean you’re going to get a divorce and get fired,’” Daniels said. “None of those things have happened, in fact I feel closer to my wife now.”

Off topic, but has anybody ever noticed and wondered that if women are so oppressed and have such a hard time in this society, why are the vast majority of transgenders of the M->F variety?
It will be interesting to see how many children are pulled out of that school but I imagine the Principal will be hiding and censoring that information.
It is a sick and twisted pervert that belongs in a mental institution.

Local control of schools is mandatory if education is to survive.
This man must be fired, and every person supporting his perversion should be scoured from the board, from the teaching rolls, and from administration staff. If this is accepted, it is the new normal.

Not off topic at all and I have a theory as to why this is so. I think many men want to become women because they feel that it will take the pressure off of them to be a man. Women have choices. They can have a career or they can stay home and be taken care of by others. Men do not have that choice. They are expected to be providers and they are expected to be strong and stoic about it.
Women have choices but men have obligations. I think that is what it comes down to. Wearing a dress and being allowed to be submissive takes a lot of pressure off. I think this is what drives so many men to try and become women. And they also know that they will never become pregnant which is the one hardship that real women do have to contend with (however real women do have the choice of abortion or giving a child up for adoption).
As for the small minority of women who want to become men, I think it also has to do with relieving pressure. As a man, they no longer have the pressure of having to be always feminine. I think that's why the vast majority of women who try to be men are "butch." They just don't want to bother with makeup, dresses, styling their hair and all the other things that women are expected to do.
So basically it's about relieving pressure and thinking that the grass is greener on the other side. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.
That said, I think all these sex change people end up being unhappy with their choice. I'm hard pressed to think of anybody that was able to pull off a sex change successfully and have a happy life. Maybe somebody has an example of that - I haven't heard of one. I think even Bruce Jenner has regrets. Yes, he looked good on the cover of that magazine when he had an army of makeup experts gussy him up. But I doubt that's they way he looks everyday. He's basically a 70 year old man in a dress and I doubt he looks pretty on a regular basis.
So several hundred if not a thousand children will be forced to pander to this mental patient’s delusions?
Oh Hell no... needs fired, with cause and find another career path.
Or better yet, get the obvious mental health help HE needs.

I think you are right, but I also have one more theory that I think also leads to some of the suicides. I travel for a living and observe people worldwide. If you are an average looking guy especially one who is past 40, you have to really be on your game if you want to interact with people that you do not know (male or female, and not sexually). It doesn’t matter who you are or how many countries you have visited, or how many interesting things you have seen or done, you will always just be another guy and the world seems to be full of them. If you are a female, however, especially one traveling alone, you will not be able to sit in an airline seat, or a bar seat for minutes without some guy wanting to talk to you, and they will (at least visually) hang on to every word you say as if it is the most fascinating and interesting thing ever spoken. I think on some level, some men think they will receive that attention, and when in reality they discover that no matter how much makeup they put on, that they are still recognized as men and they not only do not get that attention, but are actively avoided, that contributes greatly to the dissatisfaction.
