Nunes: 'No surprise' Dem memo wasn't released
The Hill ^ | Feb. 9, 2018 | Mark Greenwood

Posted on 02/09/2018 8:55:11 PM PST by confederatecarpetbag

Nunes urged committee Democrats to make "the appropriate technical changes and redactions" to the document as recommended by the Justice Department "so that no sources and methods are disclosed and their memo can be declassified as soon as possible."

All the Bush and Global GOP lawyers are calling Trump's decision a "miscalculation," but the Portuguese dairy farmer from Fresno shames their legal palaver with one pithy sentence. Nunes is a hero

Let them hash it out back in the committee.

I wish the Grassley Memo had been released AFTER the Dem memo because it would have probably exposed it as false, since it was entirely consistent with the Nunes memo, and was independently written from a separate investigation, proving the Nunes memo to be accurate. Their “rebuttal” would have been shown fully for the farce it was.

In this case their argument wasn't entirely without logic - they said it allows the Democrats to create a narrative that Trump "had something to hide" - that was something we had surmised was the plan to begin with.

If it needs fixing how did it get out of committee?

“Gonna be some screaming in the media.”

No matter what Trump does there will be screaming in the media. It’s not about what he does, just that he’s the one doing it.

I bet that Shiff or some like minded schmuck will “leak it” to the NY Times or Washington Compost. Then they will have him on releasing classified documents!

That is by design

The DEMs wanted to point to all the redacted portions and claim that their side was being unfairly silenced by Trump. Trump outfoxed the Dem children by telling everyone what and why the memo would be redacted.

And not surpingly the media is silent on this

And I’m sure Nunes never had the foresight to see what would happen.

No one is being arrested and no one is under surveillance as a result of the Nunes memo.

If the memo was as damning as the hype, there would have been arrests already.

Face it. Nunes botched it.

NBC News has exclusively obtained a six-page rebuttal to the Nunes memo from Rep. Jerry Nadler of New York, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, which was to be circulated to all House Democrats on Saturday.

RE: NBC “rebuttal” memo

The Nunes menu is akin to a prosecutor’s opening statement, NOT a prosecutions ENTIRE case. Of course all supporting evidence not only exists, but will play out over the next few weeks. The only purpose of any “rebuttal” memo’s is to provide a narrative for the media to attack the GOP investigation.

Nunes is a stud..a soldier.

Definitely cut from some good cloth unlike some of his spineless colleagues.

Really? On what information do you base that? Is there a Estimated TOA list for persons of interest's arrests hanging up somewhere?

PSSSST.

Before you mouth off again, you might want to bone-up on our Judicial system.

Start with "Grand Jury." Indictments, and go from there.
