CNN Already Demanding A 'Discussion' About Gun Control After Florida School Shooting

As the story about the horrific mass shooting in Parkland, Florida was still developing today, CNN didn't even wait for all the facts to come in before beginning its push for a “discussion about guns."

At 3:17 PM EST, CNN National Security Analyst Juliette Kayyem made her gun control pitch by misinforming the network's viewers, claiming that America is "the only nation that has this kind of violence." According to NewsBusters, which transcribed the relevant segment, Kayyem said:

Yet again, you cannot have these conversations with at least saying every time we are the only nation that has this kind of violence and presumably gun violence, obviously, in particular focused on our children. It is just ridiculous. My daughter is coming home from an urban high school in the next 20 minutes. It's — it’s like no other country lives or allows themselves to live and here we are, another time, having a discussion about guns as being a security issue for our children.

Instead of correcting Kayyem's egregious factual error, CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin agreed with Kayyem:

Let us all hold a discussion about the violence in entertainment.

Advertising is a billions of dollars per year industry because everyone knows that what people see affects their behavior.

Unless it is glamorized violence on the big screen, according to the gun grabbers.

Let’s discuss “gun violence”.

That’s a phrase carefully tested in focus groups and selected to promote fear of the firearms that make men, women, the old, the young, the sick, the weak, the small, and the few all equal. The use of the phrase “gun violence” and its deceptive partner “sensible restrictions” in demanding a discussion is proof of their insincerity. Still, I’m ready to talk. I’m even sincere.

The Second Amendment: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

The militia clause explains why that individual, God-given right is given the highest legal protection of any individual right in the Constitution. That clause, however, does not limit our God-given right to defend ourselves and our families. The right to keep and bear arms is clearly held by “the people” and is clearly one that “shall not be infringed”.

Spiritually, God gave us that right. No force on earth has the moral right to usurp that gift from God. Legally, the Second Amendment protects that right. No force on earth has the legal power to infringe on that most basic of all American rights.

Those who wish to become tyrants clearly don’t care about God or the rule of law, just force. So where do America’s enemies on the left stand practically? Thirty-six million hunting licenses were sold last year, and less than a third of gun owners are even hunters - two thirds have guns only to protect their family and their country against the very threat posed by today’s Left.

Xerxes had over 100,000 trained soldiers (and perhaps up to one million) behind him when he ordered 300 Spartans to lay down their arms. If Leonidas refused against those odds, what kind of men would we be to turn meek with the odds just as lopsided but in favor of freedom? Those who wish to become tyrants can try, but our side of the debate knows the correct answer:

Xerxes/Obama/Pelosi/Stalin/Hillary: “Hand over your arms”
Leonidas and our Free Republic: “Come and take them”.

OK.

A discussion.

If people were allowed to carry freely, then kooks like this would have been taken out as soon as he started shooting and not as many people would be now dead.

Guess what, rights are granted only as ends to obedience. Have an obedience problem? Watch the sphere of your rights slowly shrink in spite of your shrieks till you get the point.

CNN can discuss it all they want with whomever they like.

Barack Obama had the Presidency and big majorities in Congress. What happened with guns then?

3rd Rail territory.

end illegal (and tyrannical) government.

Secondly, here we are nearly 17 years after 9/11 and we still have our children as sitting ducks. Absolutely unconscionable.

So very true. We can't stop it all but something really stinks concerning some of the events that lead up to this and how it unfolded. It is safe to say we as a nation spent at least a TRILLION since 9/11 and who exactly is safer and how is it a freak like this can do what he did? Liberals smile at events like this.

Let’s get our hearts back to God, and I ain’t perfect or without room for improvement either.

America evolved around a markedly Christian worldview, one which its government never put there. If not refusing Satan’s tyranny, get ready for a third rate socialism, not even as impressive as China’s.
