A "settler" responds to President Trump
Arutz Sheva ^ | 13/2/18 | Yonatan Behar

President Trump, please don't fall for FAKE NEWS! In your recent interview with the Yisrael HaYom newspaper, you answered a question about settlements by saying:

"We will be talking about settlements. The settlements are something that very much complicates and always have complicated making peace, so I think Israel has to be very careful with the settlements."

When I read this, I was puzzled. Was this President Trump being interviewed, or was it President Obama?!

President Trump! The settlements are NOT "something that very much complicates and always have complicated making peace"! This is FAKE NEWS! The exact opposite is true! The settlements are the SOLUTION to peace, not the problem!

President Trump, I'm sure you are familiar with the story of the little Dutch boy who put his finger in the dike and thus saved the day by preventing the leak from bursting wide-open. The settlements in Judea and Samaria -- the heart of the State of Israel -- are preventing the gates of Islamic terror from bursting wide-open and flooding Western civilization with its evil plans for death and destruction!

President Trump, I have a theoretical question for you: If the leaders of ISIS were to approach you, and offer to lay down their guns, and stop their war against the West, on one condition: that you allow them to establish a state in the heart of America - let's say in Nebraska, Colorado, or Kansas. Would you agree? I'm sure you wouldn't, and rightfully so, because a) the United States belongs to the United States and no one else, and b) you wouldn't trust them as far as you could throw them!

President Trump, the settlements in Judea and Samaria are just like the little Dutch boy's finger....

We hold these truths to be self evident:

1. Two states for two peoples is so much racist blather; 2. Never willingly give a bully your lunch money. He'll take it if he can--or not. But don't ever just give it. The opposite of peace will result if you do; and 3. If there's no solution, then there's no problem (Spinoza said that). You just keep on keeping on, in that case, and improve life for everyone and anyone any way you can.

Stay out of it and let Israel and the Palestinians deal with each other. There is no solution to be imposed or brokered or whatever.

I had the same reaction as the settler when I read Trump’s statement on the settlements.

The “settlers” are really the best hope for peace. We are here. We know Arabs. Arabs know us. There is genuine interaction, both good and bad, commercial and personal. In Ghaza, to Ghazans, Jooos! are just some subhumanoids that they throw missiles at because their Imam tells them to. Evacuating the Philadelphic Corridor was unbelievably wrong.

Did I say McMaster didn’t say that? I just said that Baruch Spinoza did, and since I heard that from my father, who has a PhD. in philosophy, I’ll take his word for it that Spinoza said it first.

Let's get serious here. The only good reason to have settlers is to inch out the Palestinians day by day.

I do not disagree with this outcome.

The type of "settlers" I have encountered, in general, are the most obnoxious, passive aggressive, and hateful people on planet Earth. They're as bad as Mormons. The idea that these people are going to be forging peace with violent savages? Please.

The US shouldn't be involved or commenting. Just look at the map -- it is entirely untenable for a hostile state to exist smack inside Israel. If I were running Israel, taking full control of the West Bank would be a priority.

You don’t know many settlers, then. I live in Gush Etzion. I’m a settler. My extended family are settlers. Hateful? Some smoke pot and listen to Shlomo Karlbach. Perhaps some, like me, post on Freep. Some carry rifles. Many, like me, are quite poor. But we’re here, and we’re staying. If peace doesn’t result, that’s ok, too. We’re willing to try, but not willing to do anything suicidally stupid, either.

As for the violent savages thing. That’s a generalization, too, to my experience. There are many Arabs who make a good living working for Jews, better than they would earn working for Arabs, and find Jews more pleasant and easygoing. Doesn’t mean I wear rose colored glasses. That’s an actual observation, of which I remain skeptical to this day. There are many more that I wouldn’t trust as far as I can throw.

I've never quite understood the use of the term "settlers" as a pejorative. America is a nation built on the labor of settlers. I guess we're beyond the point where it has any meaning. Settlers implying productive labor, it's easier to focus on immigrants. Which many settlers were as well. In any case, the only governing document in the case of today's Israeli settlers is the British Mandate, incorporated by the UN, which states Jews can settle anywhere between the river and the sea. Jordan having been taken from them and given to the Hashemites in 1923. Despite that, no new settlements of any consequence in decades. In fairness, I doubt President Trump knows much about that aspect of the issue. I wouldn't lose much sleep over it. Though the construction of a Judenrein state really isn't something the US should be supporting. Shouldn't have supported it in Gaza or Iraq either. Smart or not, there were Jews who wanted to stay (Gaza) and return and start business' (Iraq). We shouldn't have supported the ban.

What a hopeless reality you paint...
Obnoxious, passive-aggressives vs savages.

As someone already mentioned, Spinoza already reminded us That if there is no solution, there in no problem.

So why are we wasting time even talking about it?

The west Bank is Israeli sovereign territory and they can manage it any way the wish.

The savage koranimals? Let them die of thirst in the dark.

As far as I'm concerned, the West Bank is sovereign Israeli territory. Israel acquired it the only way most nations do. Through gold and blood, emerging as winners.

The only nations that exist as through popularity contest that I can think of, and that only so long as the koranimals behave, are India and Pakistan.

So, no solution, no problem, and Israel does not have to argue whether they are the "occupiers" or the occupied.

I have always viewed, and continue to view them as the "Occupied..."

The "armistice line on that map is a fairy tale.
"Armistice" implies an agreement between two equals.
The koranimal savages can at best be considered as two- legged animals.
