Ohio Republican Gov. John Kasich said the deadly school shooting on Wednesday should be a rallying moment for the nation on guns, but he predicted Congress would not live up to the task, and suggested the President should take the lead.
"Do I think they can do anything on guns? I hope they prove me wrong and they can because I have no confidence in them," Kasich said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."
"We need leadership out of the executive," he said. "This is a great opportunity for common sense steps that can be taken. ... Mr. President, I ask you to do this. You don't have to boil the ocean, but take some steps now."

How about stepping into a nice gun range next time he’s in Ohio, shoot a few mags and talk to some gun owners about what they think of their Chief Mailman.
That choad has always been an enemy of the people. He voted for Clinton’s anti-gun bills back in his congressional days.

Notice how few liberals ever wish to hold any of these mass shooters responsible for their horrendous crimes. They find it much easier and emotionally gratifying to blame an inanimate object rather than judge or hold an individual responsible for his actions. Their outrage would only be greater that if somehow the “rights” of this certified lunatic murderer had somehow been violated. Thirty nine times local police visited this lunatic and not one street smart cop did the right thing. Forget about the huge sums that were spent on social workers, educators and other local officials. Lunatics and guns don’t mix. Sorry but if someone posts on social media that they have guns and intend to shoot up a school or public venue, that person has made a terrorist threat and should be treated as if he or she were in ISIS. There was a time in America that when it became known a mentally ill person had a gun, the police found a way to get it. Today the cop would be sued, have no support from his superiors or politicians, and in the interest of self preservation, do nothing definitive. Wonder how many cops in that community came across Cruz, knew what should have been done, did nothing and now are feeling regret and depression.

I don’t have any problem with trying to come up with some way to ban mentally disturbed people from getting guns besides just an adjudication that they are insane. That’s extremely rare but we do have lots of insane people out there. If we don’t find some way to stem this wave of mass shootings it’s eventually going to result in full fledged gun control.

This is all caused by two things, the breakdown of the American family..look around, kids growing up with NO father, mothers who have 6 baby daddies..they are mocked and cheered upon on Maury Povich, they don’t know who the father is..then these kids go to school and the parents expect the school to take care of their troubled kids..second you have the taking out of God in schools..God is mocked on a daily basis..there have always been guns, but when you take out God from everything this is what happens..people grow up with NO value for human life
In modern American English usage, the phrase "common sense" is like the word "smart." In most contexts it means the opposite of its dictionary meaning.
It would be over the top bad if it was just guns. He's an anti-Second Amendment, pro Obamacare, global warmist. I suspect he's a country without borders guy, as well.
We need him in a leadership position like I need a second dose of cancer.
