'Big Bang Theory' star Mayim Bialik slams NRA, calls for 'civil disobedience' to change gun laws

In the wake of the shooting that killed 17 people at a high school in Parkland, Florida, stars far and wide are speaking out in the ongoing gun control debate. Now, “The Big Bang Theory” star Mayim Bialik has made an impassioned plea for “civil disobedience.”

The star took to Facebook with a video post calling out lawmakers who receive funding from the National Rifle Association and private citizens who own guns.

“The images of those 17 faces will not leave my head, but I said that about the last shooting and the last faces and indeed, we forget,” she said. “I’m angry, I feel numb, I feel disgusted, I feel horrified and sometimes I feel all of these things at once.”

Unlike some of her celebrity counterparts, Bialik acknowledged the many other facets that often come up in the gun control debate, but noted that nothing can be done about them en masse.

What kind of civil disobedience is she proposing?

When I heard the term civil disobedience, what popped into my head was a 'Million Gun March' into Washington DC.

Saying that as a conservative doesn’t get you any votes you wouldn’t have gotten anyway, IMO.

If the mentally weak and liberal (I know, redundant) have some star who supports a liberal stand, then all it does is reinforce their desire to vote for that candidate, even if they are totally ignorant on that issue simply because that person is a celebrity.

Although, I do believe a liberal celebrity who endorses a conservative candidate (as if that would ever happen) might indeed swing some votes of the mentally weak electorate. That’s just the way they roll, IMO...sadly.

I don't watch sitcoms, but I'd heard from a conservative friend that they admired her for the rarity of being a liberal Jewish Hollywood actress who stood up for her faith and vocally supported Israel, as opposed to the usual "Boycott/Divest Israel; Israel == Apartheid South Africa" movement supported by most Jews in Hollywood & Academia.

Bialik got in trouble with the PC crowd a couple of months ago. She seemingly blamed Harvey Weinstein’s victims for not being modest enough. The PC crowd really raked her over the coals. This could be Bialik’s attempt to get back in their good graces.

She also caught some flak from the PC crowd recently when she made a donation to the IDF. At the end of the day though, she is a hollywood leftist who doesn't want to be seen as biting the hand that feeds her, so her pendulum needed to swing back to the left. This incident was the perfect opportunity for her and the other hollywood hypocrites with their armed bodyguards to do some virtue-signaling.
