A group of Republicans who have decided not to run for re-election told CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday that the Republican Party has changed, and not for the better.

Reps. Ed Royce (R-Calif.), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), and Charlie Dent (R-Pa.) and Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) complained about the GOP’s narrowing focus and the perception that the Republicans must pledge loyalty to the president instead of to GOP principles. […]

Royce said he always considered the Republican Party to be “a big tent party” with room “for a lot of different viewpoints.” He said part of the answer is for the party to look at “what we can do to change the fact that no longer do we really have the types of friendships across the aisle that we once had.”

When asked whether “the tent is as big as it used to be,” Dent said, “No, I don’t, actually. I think what’s happening in Congress is the political center is collapsing, but that’s not true across the country. What I found is that we have become enormously polarized here in Congress, and that polarization has led to a paralysis. I mean the very simple, basic tasks of governing, just keeping the government open.”

Ros-Lehtinen complained that “very few women” are running for office on the Republican ticket. “Far greater numbers of women are identifying themselves as being in the Democratic Party. Minorities that have always been traditionally a group that we should really be going after.” …

And this crew, Royce (R-Calif.), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), Charlie Dent (R-Pa.) and Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), have no room for Trump. So, they are the small-tent crowd, not Trump.

Yes, we decided to be America first instead of being f**ked by Globalists. To you morons, it might be for the worst, to us proAmerica Americans, it’s for the better...

They need to shut the hell up. My cousin was a Democratic County Committee Member up North, until he “came out” as being Pro Life and anti Gay Marriage. He’s very Catholic. They couldn’t run him out of there fast enough. If any Party is a “small tent” it’s not the GOP.

“The problem with the “big tent” theory is where they stick the pole.”

But for the GOP, they are so used to getting the shaft from the RATs that now it even “feels good,” and they have the “added benefit” of “being liked,” which is so important to them.

Yes, the Republican Party is changing. It is changing for the good. The current, the winning Republican Party wants to make America great again.

Some of these guys are ancient and either will retire or kick the bucket. So it would be a natural purge over the years.

If we had a 65 seats+ and we could afford to lose a few seats, I say, sure go ahead lets purge the rinos. But with a +1 majority its too thin to risk. Just my opinion here

because emotions worked so well before

We need a larger majority and work on getting more seats before we start a purge. That would be a good tactic. Plus we need to tactical about who we are going to purge, purge of course should be in solid red states, but even that is risky, look at Alabama.
