What really pisses me off is the kids who escaped being shot and dealing with the terror, but then having to join a f’ing human centipede chain to get out of the area, with their hands on the shoulders of those before them. I watched far to much footage of Nazi doing the same to the Jews. Is this conditioning for when it comes time to run to the ditch?

That’s not for the kids safety, that’s for school staff, security and police safety, hands up and visible. As far as the kids it would be shooting fish in a barrel moving slowly in a conga line like that, for any shooter who knows “procedure.”
