President Trump took a thinly veiled swipe at cancer-stricken Sen. John McCain Friday during a speech at an annual gathering of conservatives — without mentioning him by name.
Trump, touting his tax reform bill that also killed the ObamaCare individual mandate that required people to buy health insurance, lamented the Affordable Health Care Act would have been repealed in its entirety if the 81-year-old Arizona Republican had not voted against repeal.
“We’re having tremendous plans coming out now, health care plans, at a fraction of the cost that are much better than ObamaCare. And except for one senator, who came into a room at 3:00 in the morning, and [voted] like that, we would have had health care too,” the president said to loud cheers at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland.
“We would have had health care too. Think of that. People are getting great health care plans and we’re not finished yet. But, remember, one person walked into a room, when he was supposed to go this way, and he said he was going this way, and he walked in and he went [the other] way and everyone said, what happened? What was that all about?,” he continued.
“Boy, oh, boy, who was that? I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t want to be controversial so I won’t use his name, okay? What a mess.

We have health care. What the plan Trump is talking about would have done was replace one broken plan with another that wouldn't have been much different. Maybe next time just go for repeal and leave it at that?
Trump rightly pointed out the hypocrisy and position of a guy who has not only attacked Trump regularly, but also voted against Obamacare in the past for political posturing.
McCain is just awful.
Did he speculate how McCain peed himself in delight when he got his hands on the Trump dossier?

Truth is not slime.
Slime is casting aspersions on honest people who point out that the “Affordable Care Act” actually made healthcare unaffordable.
“By the way, how do we know McCain’s even ALIVE? He hasn’t been seen in public since December, as far as I know.”
I was actually wondering the same thing...I know that tweets are being sent out by his account but that means nothing. The Swamp does not want an actual conservative to replace him and I wouldn’t put anything past them (or his family).
Isn’t there some provision in the Senate rules that if someone is too ill to participate for a certain period of time then they must be replaced?
McCain will soon have to face his maker and master, God Almighty. The evil domain of Satan and Hell is where he should spend eternity. I have faith in our Lord and his only son, Jesus Christ to have justice prevail.
You can’t slime McCain because that’s like making Water wet.
Isn’t McCain who Qanon refers to as the one “who will not be named”—or something like that?

The NYpost has an odd definition of “slimed”. The only sliming seems to the the NYpost.

John McCain slimed John McCain with his health care vote.
THAT was some shot from the NY Post, in their title! And we wonder why there is no compromise in sight. The media steps on Trump’s message to mis-direct, by first creating enmity for readers and viewers to consume instead, in order to over shadow the message of this president .
Look at this thread fall for it. We’re directing our focus and anger on McCain the Betrayer and ignoring a teaching moment. Trump was reminding us how slim the margin is in the Senate!
Mid-terms are coming up and he is imploring us to Get Out the Vote.
(McCain the Betrayer is a motivater, but mid term losses can cost us our president .)
Anyonne else read that McCain said after casting the vote, something like, “make America great now, Donald.”
I tend to believe McCain is that petty and vindictive, but can’t remember where I read it.
McCain CANNOT be slimed enough for his repeated perfidy.

Right now the AZGOP is setting up the next Amnesty Senator from AZ, McSallycain in place of Flake.
They got someone to whisper sweet nothings in Joe Arpaio’s ear that he was needed in the Senate race.
What they did not tell him is that he was needed to sneak McSallycain past Kelli Ward, who was the reason Flake is quitting.
I think it’s “we don’t say his name” and they are referring to McCain
