When Coral Springs police officers arrived at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on February 14 in the midst of the school shooting crisis, many officers were surprised to find not only that Broward County Sheriff's Deputy Scot Peterson, the armed school resource officer, had not entered the building, but that three other Broward County Sheriff's deputies were also outside the school and had not entered, Coral Springs sources tell CNN. The deputies had their pistols drawn and were behind their vehicles, the sources said, and not one of them had gone into the school.

Seriously, why is the enemedia now reporting on this? Are the PTB down there fixing to make Israel the fall guy? If so, I won’t shed any tears, but he’s just one small part of a huge, systemic problem.

It's what I've read here in Colorado where Columbine happened. I suppose you'd have to poll the PDs across the nation to get what their opinions and policies are about school shooters to get a good reading about the subject.
Waiting for SWAT to get there to respond would cost lives.

We can’t, from a common decency perspective tell the Liberal parents in Parkland that they themselves killed their kids, but when taken in totality, the combined actions of the School Board, the School Administration, the BCSO, that worthless pr!ck Sheriff Scott Israel, the even more worthless SRO, Scott Peterson, these other spineless BCSO “deputies,” and last, but by no means least, the FBI, they voted for a “broader government” that did it’s best not to protect or save their children.
And in their grief, now they choose to “blame” an assembly of mechanical parts with no intelligence of it’s own. They all need to go stand in front of the mirror when looking for their kids “killer.”
What the Broward Sheriff Israel said yesterday to the press is 180 degrees polar opposite.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office seems to be totally corrupt and incompetent.
Will the Broward County voters do anything? Or are the voters so dumbed down by leftist leadership in the county that the voters no longer can think?

Questions: Why were there 4 armed guards at this high school?” Do many high schools have even one, no less four? How long did they have 4 guards for? a month, a week, how long? Did somebody know what was about to happen?
I watched the Sheriff give a brief statement about this. The SRO is on video just standing outside the building. So, the Sheriff suspends the SRO without pay. But, it turns out that the SRO had enough time on the job to receive a pension, so the SRO just quit and retired instead....and will receive the pension.
You couldn’t be more incorrect. Nationwide, the first one or two cops are trained to immediately move towards the shooter and engage him to neutralize and/or fix him in place.
All the perimeters, swat, supervisors, etc you mentioned arrive and respond to where the FIRST cops are and bring a better follow on response. No department anywhere teaches what you said and you cannot back that up as a policy from any department. And yes, department SOPs are public and available nationwide.

He isn’t a fall guy, he’s their guy! He did what they voted for him to do. HIs sin is he’s a RAT politician, not a Law Officer. All that metallic $hit on his chest doesn’t make him anything more!
They only had one “armed cop”. A Broward cop who hid outside. Three more supposedly showed up and also didn’t enter.
The cops were waiting for their union rep to tell them it was OK to go in.
