I have to agree with the 12th place loser in regards to Ivanka. Whether it be her, Jared, the Obama kiddies, Moochelle my belle, Chelsea or any other pol/celebrity. While it may be a personal thrill for them, it is not their stage and they have no business being there. They may feel or otherwise try to sell it as them being there representing in an official capacity but that’s just self-annointed, entitlement bull crap.

David Wise. I don’t know his politics - I do know he’s a family man, proud to display the US flag and he knows the words to the national anthem and had his hand over his heart while singing it. He’s also a GREAT freestyle skier. He was refreshing to watch.

Why is it if a young person wants to learn a trade and work either before or after school it is forbidden, or if it is allowed their hours are limited.
Yet, those doing sports often get up early to work out and or stay late to work out and this is not only allowed but encouraged.
How young are the gymnast or ice skaters when they first begin training? How many tens of thousands of hours (and dollars) are spent before they try out for the Olympics?
Of the thousands working toward the same goal how many actually reach the top and win a gold medal?
And then their career is over by the time they are 20!
Just think if we allowed apprentice to begin working at 12 or 13 by the time they get out of school they will have skills to build a life on and support a family.
What a generation of entitled brats our society has raised. Kenworthy already has a Silver Medal from Sochi and was world champion 3 years in a row. FWIW, Patton finished 5th in Modern Pentathlon in his only Olympic try - he did OK in most events except shooting, where he came in 21st.

Stopped reading right there. Anybody who has been paying attention knows that the writer is starting with a false premise. The liberals have politicized everything and the Olympics were ruined before they began.
It is high time to abolish the Olympics for its sickening Nationalism or bring the Movement into the Globalist Age.
Get rid of team events ,country uniforms and national identity. Get rid of the playing of militaristic anthems and medal ceremonies after the events. In fact get rid of medal ceremonies period. The Olympics should not be about competition, but about co-operation ,inclusion, diversity and a movement toward a Global government of peace and harmony.
In fairness, we have to acknowledge that freestyle skiers and snowboarders fall a lot while honing their stunts. And some of those falls cause injury which they then have to work through.
That said, freestyle skiing is a judged event. I can’t stand judged events. The Olympics have way too many of them.
