Libby Schaaf, the mayor of Oakland, California, made the daringly foolish choice to warn illegal immigrants in the Bay Area that Immigration Customs and Enforcement agents were on their way to raid the place. She posted the warning online 24 hours before ICE was scheduled to arrive.
She shared the notice with the intent to "protect" citizens, not frighten them, she wrote.
"Oakland is safer when we share information, encourage community awareness, and care for our neighbors."
It turns out the community is much "safer" having been swept by ICE, as a sizable number of the people the agents arrested in the San Francisco Bay Area had violent criminal records.
Of those 232, 180 “were either convicted criminals, had been issued a final order of removal and failed to depart the United States, or had been previously removed” from the country and had come back illegally.
Another 115 “had prior felony convictions for serious or violent offenses.” (Fox News)
Those convictions include aggravated assault, murder, a hit and run, lewd acts with a minor, burglary, cruelty toward a child, indecent exposure, domestic violence, drug trafficking, battery, sex offenses and false imprisonment, an ICE spokesperson told Fox.
ICE Deputy Director Thomas D. Homan said before the raid concluded that there were 864 illegal immigrants in the Bay Area and is unsure how many escaped their grasp.
Schaaf has defended her decision to tip off illegals in the area, suggesting it was noble and the "right thing" to do. She has no regrets.
The DOJ is considering what to do with Schaaf, currently reviewing whether the mayor broke any laws.
They do know, however, that she'd be willing to go to jail.

If she is “willing to go to jail”, why not put her there until they can come up with the multitude of violations she committed? As long as public officials keep defying our laws with no consequences, nothing will get better and the public will have less regard for laws.
Need to catch her in the actual ICE raid aiding and abetting. Maybe her MS13 Boyfriend kills her during the raid or she dies as part of collateral damage.
Where is Little Jeffy Sessions on this? Why haven’t charges been filed by the DOJ on this open and shut case where she’s admitted breaking the law on broadcast media?

Jeff is over at Rubenstein’s, rearranging his sock drawer. Rube’ will let him know when he can announce something. Rube’ calls the shots and Jeff gets to announce whatever he’s told to announce.

She’s just a kindhearted person. Next she’ll probably turn her own house into a sanctuary house, and all those undocumented victims will have a safe place to stay. Bless her heart.

Not only that, if I drive in there in a pickup truck they will mob it and willingly jump in.
These ICE guys are so out of touch it is amazing.
Does Oakland get any Fed money?
If not, then put pressure on CA, money wise, until they do something about it.
If she isn’t arrested and jailed, I hope she gets her “just desserts” by a gang of illegals.

What a great idea for the ICE agents to implement!
“Aiding and abetting a fugitive to evade the law/police” is a crime, and I’m willing to bet it can be a felony, esp. of the criminal is wanted for a FEDERAL crime rather than just a local crime.
What she did constitutes a “warning” about a police action that would tell those wanted for crimes to hide or flee. That is “aiding and abetting” since she is a top law enforcement official in Oakland besides whatever that thing is in blue.
