“SOUTH CARLINA, WHY DO YOU KEEP VOTING THIS CRACKER LADY BACK TO D.C. EVERY 6 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!” (sic)

Easy answer - OPEN PRIMARIES. The GOPe in SC runs a bunch of fake conservatives to splinter the vote on the right and then the Dems (who know they will never win a senate seat in SC) cross over in droves in the primary to vote for liberal Graham. He’s the best they can do.

Close the primaries in SC and Graham is a dead man walking (politically speaking).

China isn’t the main problem. The main problem is Corporate America that wants cheap Chinese labor to manufacture their products, and then consequence free importation of those producrs in to the U.S. That’s who Graham represents.

We began to lose the domestic steel industry in the early 1960’s. Kennedy was attacking them for raising prices, while we were importing steel dumped from Europe. The unions ran the domestic industry into the ground, as we could not compete with low prices from Europe and high wage demands. As a result we became dependent on foreign sources, and we still are. So this problem has been there for sixty years, and Trump is the first president to seriously take it on.

Agreed. And the MSM sprints to him because they know he’s in their camp.

It reminds me a line from that movie, The Rainmaker, with Matt Damon....

During a deposition, he and the other lawyer(John Voight) are going back and forth and Matt Damon asks...

Do you even remember when you sold out?

I’d love someone like the President to address Congress and ask only than, then break out the PowerPoint presentation showing how so many campaigned on certain things, only to turn their backs on him, and more importantly, the American people that put them there.

A tariff is only effective if you have an industry to support. If US industry has no other realistic source for steel, they will have to pay the increased prices and China will still have a captive market.

So lindsay graham is smarter about international trade than Trump?
How much steel has lindsay ordered for one of his business projects?

"Easy answer - OPEN PRIMARIES.

DANG! Sounds like the Republican Party leadership in SC has been taken over by Dems. They need to close the Primary.

TRUMP: "we will simply apply a Tax on their Cars which freely pour into the U.S.,”

Cracker Lady apparently doesn't know the difference between cars manufactured here and those "imported" into the U.S.

I think he’s saying, if you’re going to go after China, go after China. Don’t target a specific commodity sourced from all over the world. Put a 10% tariff on all Chinese imports. The US currently imports $500 of products from China. A 10% tariff would raise $50b (probably less, because of substitution effects, and diversion schemes). Use that to build the wall. Heck, use it to reduce the budget deficit.
