Leftists SLAM new Bruce Willis movie as ‘racist’, ‘evil’ ‘NRA commercial’

Leftists are slamming a new Bruce Willis movie as a “racist” “commercial for the NRA.”

Opening this weekend, “Death Wish,” a remake of the 1974 film of the same name, stars Willis as Paul Kersey, a Chicago doctor who turns vigilante to exact his revenge on a group of men who murdered his wife and brutally attacked his daughter. Here’s a synopsis from RottenTomatoes:

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures presents director Eli Roth’s reimagining of the 1974 revenge thriller Death Wish. Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) is a surgeon who only sees the aftermath of his city’s violence when it is rushed into his ER – until his wife (Elisabeth Shue) and college-age daughter (Camila Morrone) are viciously attacked in their suburban home. With the police overloaded with crimes, Paul, burning for revenge, hunts his family’s assailants to deliver justice. As the anonymous slayings of criminals grabs the media’s attention, the city wonders if this deadly avenger is a guardian angel or a grim reaper. Fury and fate collide in the intense action-thriller Death Wish. Paul Kersey becomes a divided person: a man who saves lives, and a man who takes them; a husband and father trying to take care of his family, and a shadowy figure fighting crime; a surgeon extracting bullets from suspects’ bodies, and a man seeking justice that detectives are quickly closing in on.
Sounds awesome, right? Leftist critics are hating on this movie, blasting it as “NRA-Agitprop” and white man “wish fulfillment.”

Bronson WWII Vet from a Pennsylvania anthracite mining (and yes he was a miner - “$1 per ton”) family of Lipka Tartar ethnicity.

You wonder why there’s such a difference in today’s actors and the past ones.

Kersey was an architect in the original. Now he’s a doctor?

A couple friends and I saw this one together yesterday. I love Bruce Willis and I liked this move very much, but liked the original with Charles Bronson better. Seems there were a number of sequels to the old original (which I only remember a couple) which I remember liking as well.

Just don't go see this new one with anyone named "Jack"...

Finally, a movie worth seeing!

Agreed. But from the standpoint what with the pure nauseating garbage that Hollyweird has been churning out for the past year and a half or two it is indeed refreshing to see a watchable movie with some real talent, ie Bruce Willis for a change.

Clearly though this latest remake of an old classic with the venerable Charles Bronson is not nearly as exciting or good as its original (not unusual though) it is much more preferable to that of the all the other crap that they've been pushing out the garbage disposal chute called Hollyweird. The movie is clearly a bright spot at last in a vast and dreary line of new movies.

A journalist interviewed Michael Winner, who directed the original. “Why is there so much violence in your films?” he sneered. Winner grabbed the guy’s tape recorder and smashed it against the wall.

Saw it this weekend. 3 of 4 bad guys Latino. I noticed. Honestly it was obvious. I went because I like to put money in movies directed or played by conservatives. Bruce Willis.

I expected a backlash.

Are they going to remake Death Wish V now? Cause that one is better suited to Bruce Willis' acting talents.

Yep - my wife wants to see it purely based on the ads where the analyst is telling Willis that whatever he’s doing seems to be helping - so keep doing it. I love her laugh when she is “evilly” amused..

The Left is such a one-trick pony. Everything is about race. If someone doesn't like the movie, or disagrees with its premise, then by all means exercise your right not to see it. Why not save the racial condemnation for someone or something that actually warrants that label. After all, crying Wolf (or racist) too many times, for too many reasons, renders the epithet meaningless.

I also thought I’d never go to another movie theater again, and haven’t been for over 10 yrs, but I weakened and went to see this movie over the weekend and LOVED IT.

Tickets were only $6 ea but we spent $22 for one big box of popcorn and two tanker sized soft drinks.

Seeing the ads for it, it looks fairly cliché, but all this controversy will do will boost ticket sales for what would have been another Bruce Willis bomb of late.
