Leftists are slamming a new Bruce Willis movie as a “racist” “commercial for the NRA.”
Opening this weekend, “Death Wish,” a remake of the 1974 film of the same name, stars Willis as Paul Kersey, a Chicago doctor who turns vigilante to exact his revenge on a group of men who murdered his wife and brutally attacked his daughter. Here’s a synopsis from RottenTomatoes:
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures presents director Eli Roth’s reimagining of the 1974 revenge thriller Death Wish. No wonder, as with no other movie in history, critics absolutely panned it, but the public loves it. Check out Rottentomatoes.
The original caught a lot of grief as well. The author of the book was really ticked at the ending because in the book he starts killing people for very little. It was supposed to be about vigilantism being a very bad thing in the end.
But the movie painted a different picture entirely.
To say that Charles Bronson was a “bad ass” would be an understatement.
I never ever thought I would go and see another movie. Guess I was wrong, I have to go see this now. Anything that makes the left go crazy is worth seeing
If it is basically a modernized version of the original movie, it has to be awesome. Especially with Bruce Willis playing that part. It’s his niche.
The original was fantastic in its time. Great story.
At least in the trailer everyone he’s killing is white. If I recall the original, by the time he challenged some black muggers to a gunfight (”fill your hands”) he passed out and never shot the5n. I’ve no problem with that, we have plenty of white criminals.
I saw it this weekend. Willis seems like he sleeps walk through it. As a Constitutional Conservative, I had a different impression. It portrays gun owners and gun stores as blood thirsty, knuckle draggers. Being that it is set in Chicago, the gun store in the movie allows you to walk out of there quickly with multiple weapons, including automatic machine guns. The original was much better.

We saw it Saturday. VERY good!
