How about daylight savings all year round?
>>How about daylight savings all year round?<
We did that for YEARS in the 70s during the “ME Oil Crisis.”
It was great andd shouldd have been made permanent.
“How about daylight savings all year round?”
How about not !@#$%^& with the *&^% clocks in the first place?
Noon approximates “sun directly overhead” (variations allowed for geography across time zones).
Leave it at that.
Shifting it permanently by an hour buys us ... nothing.
We’ll forever then have to remember “noon” is “solar zenith minus 1 hour” for no good reason.
Just let “noon” = “solar zenith”.
End DST now. It’s stupid.
You have my vote. Give as much daylight as possible into the evening. The east coast especially the farthest eastern reaches are miserable on standard time. It is pitch black at 4:00 pm. Give me the farthest western part of a DST time zone.
But dont switch back and forth.
“How about daylight savings all year round?
DILLY! DILLY!
Why don't we run the months ahead by one so Xmas will come earlier??? [/sarc]
Daylight “standard” time, is, by definition, the standard. Just leave the clocks as they are right now.
That’s my vote. An extra hour of daylight at night would make outdoor exercise and cooking possible all year round.

I’ll vote for that!
