Do you really think we cant do just as well?
If you mean getting slaughtered, I have no doubt we'd be just as easily slaughtered. I wouldn't hold the Iraqi's as a success case. Our service members won, clearly.

"Violent uprising isn't in the cards for America, on a large scale, anytime soon among the civilized conservatives. To risk one's life, and one's child's life mean a lot more discomfort than is experienced today. "
Civilized? Might as well give up before you start if that's how you plan on fighting. If there is one thing our recent middle eastern adventures taught our youth, it's how to fight dirty.

It's very easy to sit at a job or at home making 6 figures and claiming to be willing to put your family at risk, versus actually doing so.
This isn't the 1770's and US residents have an unprecedented quality of life.

My family is exactly who will be killing the tyrants’ men. I raised patriots and the Army turned them into experienced killers. I pity the man that falls into their hands if CWII should ever break out.

The average infant or 5 year old won't be so effective.
The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there."

You really haven’t thought this thing all the way through, have you?
Recall how one or two guys managed to cause absolute chaos over large areas for several days in the last few years; DC snipers, Boston Marathon bombing, the disgruntled cop in LA (I don’t recall his name), for example.

That book was actually a textbook in the “Unconventional Warfare” course when I went to college.
I didn’t take the course, but I’ve got the book.

Apparently, you don't recognize yours. Watch out for that Hellfire beyond your horizon! :)

All it takes is a couple dozen reasonably-competent guys with nothing left to lose, and 90% of the population of the country will be under martial law in short order.
Like Garth said, may your chains rest lightly...

LOL... Hopefully those 24 don't get to close to each other, that Reaper can easily take that many out in a single shot.
To: DuncanWaring; Travis McGee
It's a free download on archive.org. Everybody should have a copy close to hand - just in case.
I also like H. John Poole's books.
H. John Poole is an American military author and Marine combat veteran of Vietnam, specializing in small unit and individual tactics.[1] His books focus on the role, training, and skills of the individual infantry soldier and Marine, and on those of the combat NCOs (non-commissioned officers).[2] Poole has focused on terrorist and insurgent tactics, as well as the counter-insurgent tactics to defeat them.
And then of course, we can't forget our very own FReeper,
Travis McGee and his excellent series of text books (written in fiction format.) I personally know of one young female that he has converted into a hard-core warrior.

How can I be close to a place I refuse to go?
To: TexasGunLover
It won’t even come to that. They’ll send a formal government letter inviting you to turn in your “illegal” weapons by such-and-such a date. If you do not comply, your assets will be frozen. You will not be able to pay your bills, use your credit cards, or do anything except use cash, and the ATM won’t work any longer for your bank card.
Once you submit and turn in your stuff, you can eat again.
Get a self reliant life in the country.

The same way we were told that civil unions and domestic partnerships would never lead to gay marriage. Dont even give an inch."This is part and parcel of Lenin's pronouncement.... The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them.
Once our moral compass is thoroughly compromised with the help of Political Correctness, our enemies will indeed have enough rope to hang us.

Apparently TGL skipped his classes in military history.
WWI taught ground pounders (if not their officers) to keep their distance from fellow targets.
A WWII officer could lose his commission for violating that simple rule.
The Viet Cong learned to close within spitting distance before revealing themselves in order to avoid the death from above that TGL fears so much.
It took the jihadis to fully develop the concept of firing from within the local population (that we were still foolishly trying to win over to our side) in order to force us to kill them to get him.
One dumb, poorly armed jihadi grunt could cost us a million dollar missile and the everlasting enmity of dozens of families of the innocents we had to kill in order to get that one jihadi - who probably had a prepared, protected exit path in place (read H. John Poole's description of the battle for Hue.)
But we really don't need to be worrying about TGL as he will be comfortably ensconced at home planning on sitting any unpleasantries out. Little does he know what his fate will be if CWII should ever break out (Total Resistance is brutal when it comes to not only collaborators but also to non-supporters of the resistance.)

Fast and Furious was what obama and the democrats created. They wanted mass murder!
They thought they could take away all the guns in the USA then rule over the people by force.

I don’t know how this will be taken, but here goes nothing.
Number one, if there is a civil war, then who leads it?????
Number two, if there is a civil war, how will it be coordinated in fifty states?
Number three, if you think there is going to be a civil war, then what makes you think so when there are so many people who won’t commit themselves to even go vote, much less to spill blood?
Just sayin’
The key here is to maintain political control. You lose that, and you are in heap big doo doo kemosabe.
