The courts have flagrantly violated the Constitution for years. They can say what they want at this point but I can read the plain text and simply understand the Constitution.

Shall not infringe...

Gun confiscation does not hinge on perception of the Constitution but on only one thing. The perception that Americans might resist confiscation.

If the first test confiscation results in the deaths one or two confiscators, confiscation is off the books for another generation. If it goes smoothly, then the last slave free nation will pass in its sleep.

I suspect that they would very quickly run out of “volunteers” to bust into the homes and actually grab the guns from law abiding, patriotic Americans.

“Close? Nonsense. Any idea how much ammo is out there?”

Good luck using it against the feds when they come geared up and with serious hardware.

(I’m going through this thread point-by-point)

“Australia and Canada both don’t have a second amendment.”

Neville Chamberlain had a piece of paper signed by the Germans promising “peace in our day”. In other words, the paper is ONLY as good as the respect it gets from the people who are to enforce it.

“So unless the Supreme Court changes that, it won’t happen.”

That is EXACTLY the fear, because Leftist judges have shown no compunction to ignore what’s in the Constitution, if it doesn’t serve their purposes.

“Most likely we will not have this happen if ever for 40 years (if we get another justice or two on the court that is conservative).”

Agree, but only with your qualifier. If Thomas is replaced by a Leftist, don’t expect much respect, if any, for the Second Amendment. If Thomas and Alito, for example, are replaced, don’t expect ANY respect - the Second Amendment will still be there, but it will no longer have ANY effect on Supreme Court rulings.

On the good side, replace Ginsberg and one other Leftist with two Gorsuch’s - and we are set for at least a generation...so there is hope, but very, very, little room for error.

“Let us see how the government plans on stopping illegal guns from flooding across the borders once they disarm us. Just as successful at stopping illegal drugs and aliens?”

Heck, that will be the least of the problem. The MUCH BIGGER problem is the millions of illegal guns already here. Good luck fighting them with sling shots.

“We are NOWHERE near the clowns having the courage or the means to implement “confiscation”.”

But do they have to, much less have to do it immediately?

For example, what good is a gun if you own it but don’t register it, and then use it to defend yourself? You’ll get 10 years regardless of circumstances. And forget taking it to the range, or in your car, or selling it to strangers who could be ATF.

So the utility of having guns is next to zero, the risks are sky-high (all it takes is an ex or former girlfriend to rat you out).

RESULT:
(1) The VAST MAJORITY of people turn in their guns, just not worth the trouble or risk...and nothing is confiscated...it’s all ‘voluntary’...at that point.

(2) And with ownership way, way down, then the final steps can be taken against the hold-outs, as they will have virtually no political power to resist.

That is EXACTLY how it will happen...little by little, until gun owners lose their political power - and then BOOM, it’s over.

“A civil war will likely break out before such confiscation BS takes place.”

Exactly when? When they suddenly demand everyone to turn in their weapons within 24 hours or gun-sniffing dogs show up at our door?

Or maybe when they implement the 50% ammunition tax, or when they expand the 50% tax to guns, or when they require registration of guns, or when they charge $200 per year to keep guns registered, or when owners have to be licensed, or when they charge owners $200 per year to stay licensed, or when they limited the number of guns per owner to 20 guns, or 10 guns, or 5 guns, or 2 guns, or when semi-automatic handguns are outlawed (only revolvers), or when the boxcars show up to take owners to ‘camps’.

Exactly WHEN do we all rise up and start CW2? There are millions of gun owners, all ready to storm DC and every police station - do we wait for your order? If not, who will send the secret message to storm the gates and what will determine when that message is sent?

My point is that there will not be a CW2. The ranks of gun owners will simply shrink and shrink, until very few are left to ‘resist’ and those people will be dealt with in a matter of hours.

“There will be a lot of dead confiscators...................”

I don’t know too many gun owners willing to start shooting when the police show up at their door - maybe a few, but not enough to make any difference.

“The ABC countries not only do not have a Second Amendment, they have no right of self defense.”

Our RIGHT to self-defense ONLY exists as long as our courts ensure it. Once the courts are Leftist enough, that right is SIMPLY GONE.

“You cannot buy a semi-auto rifle in New York or California if it has a pistol grip and a detachable magazine. You cannot buy a semi-auto pistol in California if it isn’t on their ever-shrinking “approved” list. You can’t buy magazines that hold over 10 rounds, and you can’t load more than 7 rounds in your New York magazine. “

People on our side of the gun issue don’t realize that two of the LARGEST STATES in the country have now neutralized gun owners. That’s nearly 20% of the country’s population that is now represented by people no better than in the UK, and the Second Amendment isn’t doing jack for them. That’s not winning.

Good luck using it against the feds when they come geared up and with serious hardware.

First, I think there will be serious resistance by "them" when ordered to go after citizens.

Second, the logical target for resistance isn't the SWAT unit, but those who sent it.

““Molon Labe” indeed. I will not comply.”

People don’t need to immediately comply, but they will, as they see people going to jail for a decade because they used their now-illegal gun to defend their families.

Risking 10 to 20 years for owning a now-outlawed gun has that effect on people. You may hold out, but you won’t matter - you’re just one vote. There will be 20 to 100 gun owners who wan’t no part of risking jail time, and as they fold, so goes the political power of gun owners.

” The Supreme Court can’t change it...Legally.”

Short of a civil war, who determines what is legal by the Supreme Court, other than the Supreme Court? And considering our useless response to their abortion and gay marriage rulings, so you really think their will now be a civil war? We’ll be lucky to get 1000 at the mall to support us - there were more pussy hats than that last year, and Trump is STILL president.

Remember 5-4

Remember 5.56, 7.62, .50, etc...?

Most won't resist when they come to confiscate our weapons.

Many will resist.

“Let me ask you, Nolte: Are YOU really naive enough to believe that the states will just happily go along with such a bill? NOT BLOODY LIKELY.”

Well that will be A FIRST. The conservative leaders in Arizona tried to enforce simple immigration laws. The courts and Obama said NO, and that was it, they BUCKLED.

“Be realistic Civil War is the most likely possibility.”

As I noted earlier, when, under what conditions, what will be our command structure? In other words, not going to happen.

Let us see how the government plans on stopping illegal guns from flooding across the borders once they disarm us.

Let's see them disarm us.

We outnumber the US military, federal and state law enforcement combined.

Unless they plan to put themselves into bunkers and nuke the entire country there is no way to disarm us.

““The Feds have a database on who legally owns firearms.”

Based upon what? Real question.”

Google searches may not be perfect, but they certainly can tell who has ‘an interest’ in guns.

Never say never. Many said prior to 9/11 That there would be no attack on our soil. The word “never” is a odious monument to every impossibility predicted from the beginning of time.
