Liberals could in essence gut the Second Amendment through packed courts. The confiscation of firearms would however inevitably cause armed resistance. I fear that the First Amendment, already being eroded by political correctness, could disappear in my lifetime with little opposition.

And were it to happen, in the unlikely instance of not just a hardcore Leftist POTUS-COTUS-SCOTUS _and_ a filibuster-proof majority, they would have to go get ‘em all. I can see a lot of..."Deputy Smith, "a government firearms collector", his wife and two children were shot and killed from ambush last night as the family entered their neighborhood Pizza Hut for dinner.

It wouldn't take much of that sort of thing happening all over the country every night of the week, to really get the "government collectors" morale to take a dive.

A week or so of that and I'd imagine the government might have some trouble staffing their collection squads.
