Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) in an interview broadcast Sunday said she knows who she is when pressed about her claims of Native-American heritage.
She was questioned during an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press" about an editorial in a Massachusetts newspaper, "Warren must resolve debate on heritage, which said a DNA test would "permanently resolve the issue."
“Look, I do know. I know who I am. And never used it for anything. Never got any benefit from it anywhere," Warren said.

She’s parsing there. She knows she’s Caucasian, is saying so, and says she has never used being one to her advantage nor derived any unearned benefits for it. It’s from the bogus claims of Native American ancestry (that she’s keeping mum about now) that she got her special priveleges.

She’s either:
1) confusing what she definitely knows for what she thinks she knows.
2) deflecting because she knows the Native American nonsense is all a lie
3) there is no 3

That is not how this works. DNA tests are taken from skin cells, not blood. For exactly the reason you state.

“Indians” as we call them do not have a unique ethnicity. DNA testing probably won’t give an answer.
I know there is some Native American in our family tree but not to the extent of your family. We’ve never investigated to see if we can cash in from it.
If you’re in the right tribe, it can be lucrative. I know a guy that recently told me that his wife gets $46,000 per year from her tribe (tax free), 0% loans, almost free housing, free healthcare, etc. His son, early 20s, gets $19,000+ per year.
You can bet she has already taken the test and knows nothing is there. Otherwise, she would have been all over tooting her horn.
I’ll bet that, like Hillary and Barry, her school records are sealed.
She did benefit from her touted false pedigree...she was hired by Harvard and probably has “a minority” shield. I know when I was asked to work for A&M the people doing the hiring really wanted me to be Latino because it would have enhanced their ability to get gov money. I said I wasn’t, my last name was my married name. Period. No more discussion.
