As someone who worked in the State Department for 28 years, I would not be so quick to go after Tillerson. The State bureaucracy had a target on Tillerson’s back from the day he was announced to be the next SecState. There is a huge resistance movement in State that has been undermining him from Day One.

Tillerson was trying to reduce the size of the State Department. The employee unions within State have been openly antagonistic against him. Pompeo had better understand that he will be the next target.

Thanks for your insight. I totally buy into the fact that State hated Tillerson. And in that regard, Tillerson did do a great job trying to disinfect State from decades of leftist infiltration and subversion.

So, I’m not really critical of Tillerson as much as I think there was something not in sync between Tillerson and the administration. I have a lot of respect for Tillerson, although I may not agree with all his positions.

So you’re saying he got fed up with the back-biting?

With that said and thank you for the backdrop, as many have reported ( especially CTH ) we have Kerry-Clinton and State involved in the "Collusion" story. How will that effect morale, careers, and will it take someone who is not afraid to have people walked out because of their involvement and more downsizing's etc. I would have thought Rex could handle it, perhaps Pompeo is not afraid to step on toes and from the interviews I have seen of him it seems to be the case.

I wonder if we need someone who will really get it done, i.e. a culture change. No one got the dynamics of saving face and mocking little-nuke-boy and getting him to the table.

What the heck did we pay these people for all these years? Pres. Trump could and they couldn't?

But you're not in charge. And I voted for Trump, not Tillerson or anyone else. If Trump thinks someone needs to be fired, I'm good with it. No problem.☺

Precisely along the lines of what I have been suspecting since the story broke. Still, Tillerson and Trump differed on some pretty big issues. So, Rex as apparently unwilling to come to the President’s POV and now he’s gone.

Tillerson resisted moving the embassy to Jerusalem, Rush Limbaugh reported today.

Maybe Pompeo will finally drain the State Dept. swamp. Get rid of all the nobama holdovers. Reduce size, etc.

What's totally amusing is that all these "Resisters" think that once they "get rid" of Trump and his people, things will go back to normal.

They don't understand that they've made us mad enough to want ALL their heads on stakes...

They used the IRS and the spying apparatus on us during The Brown Klown's reign, and they'll do it again if they get back in power.

So, they can't be allowed to get back in power.

It's an actual existential issue for the Deplorables.
