Lamb vs. Saccone Special Election PA18
NY Times ^ | March 13, 2018

Posted on 03/13/2018 5:16:01 PM PDT by Pinkbell

A thread to discuss the results.

I feel like Lamb has a lot of momentum, has run as a moderate, and has run a better campaign. I'll predict he'll win tonight (although I'd like to see Saccone win).

NYT does a good job with election results.

Who’s life matters more: The children’s lives or gun owner’s lives

That is the media narrative.

Dave Wasserman: “It’s been reported that there were about 6-7k absentees cast in #PA18. In the past, absentees have run slightly more Dem than the overall vote and I don’t believe they’ve been counted yet. They may matter here.”

Fox is saying that two precincts do not plan to count their vote tonight, and, in addition, there are 6000 absentee ballot to be counted tomorrow.

how much did Lamb spend? THAT is the issue.

Supposedly three times as much as the GOP, so 33 million.

My concern would be even if Saccone pulls ahead, there are probably absentee votes to count. I remember Trump was ahead by 75,000 election night and then Philadelphia absentee votes were dumped (from a dump, probably) which reduced his margin to 44,000.

I agree. She’s not impressing me. Too many “meh” candidates.

Did I just hear that 6000+ absentee ballots that won’t be counted tonight. If that is true then there will be no winner declared tonight.

So they likely won’t call the outcome tonight?

Money the DNC doesn’t really have as they are still in debt

So not call tonight. Don’t know about the absentee but suspect they go to Dems. The precincts not counting tonight need time to stuff their ballot boxes. Bet we are about as close to Saccone winning now as we’ll see.

Decision Desk HQ ‏Verified account @DecisionDeskHQ According to our reporter covering Washington County in PA-18, they will not be counting absentee ballots until the morning.

Dave Wasserman: “Lamb (D) should expect a pretty healthy boost from uncounted absentees. Why? 1) They’ve historically skewed Dem 2) More than half of them are from Allegheny Co. (despite Allegheny only being ~43% of #PA18).”

Right. You wouldn’t either. These last votes counted are going on behind the scenes since it’s so close.

I'd protest and watch out for walking ballots...

Why do the absentee ballots favor the Dems? How would they even know that?
