Why are the 15 Freeway rest stops closed on the route to Las Vegas?

I don’t think there’s any roadside parks open in TX anymore.

That information is either outdated or incomplete.

While many roadside parks along secondary roads have been neglected, the bigger rest stops along major freeways are being rebuilt or remodeled.

Most of the Rest Stops along the I-5 Corridor are still maintained.

I view the rest stop issue as nothing more than trying to extort voters into approving more taxes.

The cost of a new well is pocket change to a government, and the government approval process can easily be sped up if the government wants to.

For a minimal cost they can rent outhouses while improvements are made.

Those on I-40 from Kingman on west once in California are trashed or closed.

I couldn’t believe it at one rest stop which had stools, urinals and sinks over 2/3rds broken their was California contracted immigrant workers working at ineffective clean up numbering 5 - 10 people.

Make work for illegals and no funding for general repairs to have functioning stalls.

I noticed that the first available pull-over spot after passing one of these closed rest stops had a plethora of toilet paper scattered around the nearby bushes.

I suppose the desert did get some water.

We just stopped at the Dairy Queen, at Ludlow I think.

There was an assortment of Porta Potties there. Don’t know why. Maybe for the urgent use of travelers who were Victims of the closed rest stops.

Don’t know who supplied them, but it sure looked like no one serviced them.

Poop and paper was piled higher than the seat in many of them, reminding me of a volcano ready for an imminent eruption. (And there was a LOT of lava that had already escaped.)

And I got to wondering if the I-40 businesses had any influence on the closings? To direct more traffic to them?

Maybe Gov. Brown is taking his name seriously.

The sixth biggest economy in the world can't keep their roads and facilities up to date? But it can pass a huge gasoline tax increase and it can grant huge raises to the Governor, the legislature and State's huge number of public employees including unbelievable retirement benefits?
