That mirrors my opinion on the issue.

We post here and at other places on the net. We tend to be a little more informed than many others are.

Trump signing this bill is a travesty because many people will not see anything but a betrayal and forgiveness won’t be forthcoming. They will see and hear what is on TV and that is it.

They need two thirds of the Senate to convict.

Not a problem with the Republicans we've got over there.

I agree that we control the White House and nothing more. The GOP has been exposed for all to see who actually controls the votes. Similarly, the democrats have been stripped naked and can no longer pretend to be progressives. They are just plain socialist communists. All in all, both parties are conjoined and run their own govt behind the facade of being opponents of one another. Pres Trump does what he can do and will continue to work for America. God bless Pres Trump and keep him and his family safe.

If they voted to convict and remove Trump, their political careers would be finished. And so would the GOP.

Trump isn't Nixon. He has been the victim of crimes by Deep State and the DNC. The IG report along with other actions by DOJ will reveal the details. On what grounds/crimes would the Dems and Reps vote to convict Trump?

Ah, so how would you label the Wars of the Roses? Revolution? Civil War? Rebellion?

The Wars of the Roses was a classic civil war, with the two factions (House of Lancaster - red rose; House of York - white rose) fighting over which side would hold the crown.

The Russian Revolution was followed by the Russian civil war, as the Bolshies and the White Russians were fighting over who would hold ultimate power in Russia.

Same with the French Revolution. It started out as a revolution then became a civil war, as factions who were once allies picked sides and fought each other as to which side would hold the reins of power.

Generally, in civil wars the national military takes a back seat, if it engages at all. Now, elements of the national military may take wing and join one side or another.

The key word in civil war is “civil,” as it denotes citizens or civilians rather than organized, national militaries as the principal engaged combatants.

1861 - 1865 was a war between two separate and distinct national militaries, and the only “civil” part of that fight was in Kansas and Missouri where some hot heads raided their neighbors over local feuds and booty.

If Professor Stephen Ambrose were still alive I’d let him know you said he was a “pseudo-history teacher.”

Ah, BTW, I see you were I Turkey, and worked with NSA. We share that in common: I was USAFSS at Karamursel, Top-Secret clearance, reporting to NSA. I was there 1971-1973. Interesting place.

I’m not sure what you’re asking. Are you saying you don’t think Congress would override a veto of this idiotic spending bill?

The five wealthiest counties in the United States are clustered around Washington DC.

The Deep State pays themselves and their nepotism squads VERY WELL.

Too bad our DC crooks don't take care of the country the way they take care of themselves... and their corrupt family members and friends, and crooks and cronies and foreign scum...

Time to start looking for someone else to run in 2020.

Get a grip. When perfection is the standard, no one is going to be good enough.

Trump has accomplished a lot in his first 14 months in office.

Trump has: Cut corporate tax cuts almost in half, cut in billions in regulations, enacted tariffs to protect US jobs, nominated the most conservative justices of any President in history, destroyed ISIS, revoked funding for PP internationally and allowed states to de-fund PP. and, now, managed to provided funding to rebuild our military, which was gutted under Obama. Border security and enforcement infinitely better than it was under Obama.

The Republic establishment and its donors are blocking funding for the wall for obvious reasons (cheap labor) and a handful of liberal Senators are blocking the defunding of PP. Trump is using DACA to try to get funding for the wall and worked hard to get an Obamacare repeal passed that included the de-funding of PP. It's absurd to say he hasn't tried or doesn't want to accomplish those objectives.

Anyone should, on balance, be thrilled with what Trump has accomplished in 14 months. It easily surpasses what Reagan accomplished in his first 14 months, But, he needs more conservatives in Congress to get the rest of his agenda passed.

He's turned his “BUILD THE WALL” into the equivalent of Bush the 1st's “READ MY LIPS NO NEW TAXES.”

Tell us how he is supposed to make the Republican establishment cough up the money for the wall, genius.

He revoked the DACA EO to give him leverage and still has that as an issue. But, I don't see anything else he could have done.

Unlike Bush 41, he has not broken a promise. He's still fighting the powers that be to fulfill it. Get grip or find a new hobby.

DC denizens have shared delusions that allow them to think well of themselves... things like:

‘do I know how to speak ‘in the style of ‘Mika’

or ‘Can I apologize with passion’...

‘do I always side with any ‘person of color’ no matter what the person has done’...

and ... ‘did I feel deeply about the death of Biden’s son’

DC is very much like a shallow high school clique...

Nonsensical wishful thinking. “Build the Wall” was the battle cry chant at every one of his large campaign rallies.

I'm still for Trump because we don't have and haven't had better for many decades. But,I've been getting phone calls, emails & text-messages today from many friends/relatives who were Trump supporters/voters (some who I helped win over) and all of them say he “sold out”/”folded”/etc and can't be trusted again.

The unimportance of the issue to you is not representative of the base that got Trump elected. Breaking this, his most repeated, promise was the surest way to lose in 2020.

If you want to picture why, just recall all the 1992 Clinton ads with Bush making his “Read my lips...” pledge.

“We elect good people - they get to DC and they ‘pivot’ toward the deep state AND deep state cash and goodies... When Trump didn’t ‘pivot’ they went after him to destroy him and his family AND started attacking the people who elected him.”

If they pivot toward deep state cash and goodies they were never “good people” to begin with. They probably ran to get the cash and goodies in the first place, lying to us like they always do.

I am in California, so I have NO representation in DC.

But you can call until you turn blue.

They will not change.

They don’t work for us. They work for whoever throws the most money at them. The average voter can never come close to that. We are nothing to them-they don’t give one single solitary shit about us.

They don’t care about our country

All they care about is their money and power and they don’t care who they hurt or kill to hold on to it.

Come on you guys.

Did you really expect the gopers in congress to do anything different?

As things unfold, and their evil deeds continuously brought into light, the drumbeat of gun control intensifies and they double down on dividing us by race, class, creed and color.

I believe they are escalating because too many of us on both sides are waking up.

I still don’t believe our President is one of them.

He usually comes out on top somehow eventually even if msm won’t cover it.

Government and media are afraid.

This isn’t over yet.
