No chess in that statement - just pure unadulterated ignorance regarding how firearms work.

“We will BAN all devices that turn legal weapons into illegal machine guns,” Trump tweeted.”

“No chess in that statement - just pure unadulterated ignorance regarding how firearms work.”

Until now I haven’t cared much about bump stocks. A friend of mine had an “actuator” (a little trigger crank device) he attached to his AR-15. It was, I figured, similar to what a bump stock must be, that is using a “device” to pull the trigger faster than you can with just your finger, thus avoiding the laws on “automatic weapons.

SORT of... I just watched a video (non political) about bump stocks.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2IOZ-5Nk5k

A good video even if you are not that familiar with guns.

After watching this video, I am convinced that adding a bump stock to an AR-15 turns that AR-15 into a fully automatic fire weapon.

It is a “too cute by half” way of getting around the law.

It won’t be for long.

Yes, they should be illegal! If you think that automatic weapons should be illegal, then you should have no problem making bump stocks illegal.

I know, camel’s noses and tents, but we DO have gun laws, and some are good.

I see 2 choices here.

1. Make automatic weapons legal
or
2. Make bump stocks (and any other like devices) illegal.

Make no mistake, an AR-15 with a “bump stock” makes it an automatic fire weapon.

Watch the video and tell me it isn’t!

(actually don’t tell me, I never read any responses to my posts)
