Not really. They would have to vote to explicitly override. A very different vote if Trump were out there bashing the bill relentlessly

My faith has been shaken.

Let's take a step away from the ledge :-)

I am angry. I am angry because all the support Ryan has proclaimed for the President and his agenda is BS. I am angry because I want Kevin McCarthy's voice to be one of the two he hears prior to signing an omnibus bill.

I am furious because so few Republicans took me seriously when I helped send Donald Trump to the WH to accomplish what I voted for -- HIS agenda.

But I have not lost a drop of faith, not in our mission or in the man leading it.

We know the President was angry and disgusted today --- as were we. We also know that Donald Trump, the man, fights harder when he's been deceived. He now knows for sure just what he's dealing with on Capitol Hill. He's going to regroup and fight like hell ... just like he always does.

Think back to his bankruptcy .... and how the world had written him off. Remember how he regrouped, fought and rose stronger, higher than before.

The GOP swamp AND the democrats think they've got Trump by the "short hairs" and have neutered him. ----- This pleases me and puts a smile on my face. I know who Donald Trump is.

Don't lose faith. We are right and with Donald Trump we will prevail.

Possibly, but maybe not. I have become convinced that too many Pubbies are just as eager to get rid of Trump as Democrats. I am even a little worried, if the Dems take over the House, many Pubbies in the Senate would vote with all the Dems for Removal, after the House impeaches.

DONT EVER LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN, or you will lose the majority of your support!

Nonsense. He's already lost it - if he ever really had it. Today is the day PDJT lost the 2020 election. He is now officially a lame duck for the next 2 years.

We are all Kaliforn-ya now.

It’s all over but the shouting. You don’t simply bounce back from giving 500 million to Planned Parenthood.

In all seriousness, what would have happened had he vetoed the bill???

Any legal eagles with political saltiness have any guesses?

I vehemently disagree. Trump still has most of his base. And hopefully the good things he will be able to accomplish in the next two years will be enough to get him over the finish line in 2020. But he had better STOP BUCKLING UNDER TO THE DEM AGENDA!

It happened because Ryan and Mconnell allowed it as well.

Some around here are no better than those on the other side if you dare disagree with their rosy assessment of events today.

It's the old W and Karlos 'LaRaza' Rove cheer leading squad. They're a lot older and more senile than ever. Their message is as stale as ten day bread but the GOPee can still motivate them to give the Pom Poms a shake!

but I won’t sign it until Congress sends me a real bill.

About a month ago, I would have used similar logic with Lyin' Ryan and McTurtle.

"Boys, if you send me a crap bill (like this one), I will veto it. That will mean a government shut down and a PR disaster. You will loose your majorities in November. Impeachment proceedings will start in January 2019. It won't make any difference if we fund our military then as we will be under attack from within, not internationally.

OK, you're dismissed. Come back to me with an acceptable bill."

I was betting he’d sign on to this monumental fiscal mismanagement...Just thought Trump would play his hand a little longer before folding.

Oh well.

Obeying all these “judges” on DACA took away any leverage he had. He’s fighting all 3 branches of government (even within his own admin). He shouldn’t keep telling people to vote Repukes, he is too tied to them...he has to be beyond that. Dems make it hard with all the impeachment talk but I say go down swinging
Let them impeach if they take power. Go back to your billionaire lifestyle but while in office do it your way!

This plot is a made for Netflix movie. If I were Trump, I would leave it all behind. Family is more important than these freaking anarchists.

The dems always rob the spare parts accounts. Our military runs on spare parts. We have three carrier strike groups sitting near NK. They need spare parts. This is a critical point in time. We must not show any weakness if we want to de_nuke NK. President Trump had to swallow hard, but NK is the overwhelming priority.

Some items will be hit from sources other than the budget. Similar and possibly better result.

Prophets suggest Billy Graham’s death starts the beginning of sorrows

Others suggest that if he is removed or killed we shall be invaded

Maybe we already have been

Certainly we cannot butcher babies and let killers walk free ad nauseum

This is not the country of my youth

Maybe, just maybe, we are at the brink of war

DC can fry. I am done with it

Trump Vetoes the Bill (that already had enough Votes in Both Houses to Override his Veto).

Not a true statement. It takes 2/3 of both houses to over ride a veto. Senate needs 67 and Reps need 290. Senate was 2 short and house was 34 short.
